Westowne Community Clean-up Day Saturday, November 17th 2007 8am – 12 noon The time has come for another neighborhood/alley clean-up. There will be four dumpsters this year. We will fill them up one at a time, except that one will be dedicated to metal items for recycling. We need volunteers to ensure prohibited items aren’t placed in the dumpsters; otherwise the community will be assessed $150 per dumpster if those items are inside. The following items are prohibited: Explosives or flammable materials Acids, caustics, pesticides, chemicals Medical/radioactive waste Liquid or liquid waste, asbestos materials Drums or tanks (unless clean and cut in half) Animal carcasses, large stumps Woods/logs greater than 8” diameter & 6’ length Most large items that cannot be manually lifted Refrigerators/air conditioners/antifreeze Tires, oil, paint, househould hazardous chemicals In addition: Lawnmowers must have all gasoline removed before being disposed. Metallic items must be placed in their dedicated dumpster Surplus or salvaged (in good condition) building materials (except for paint) will be collected and transported to The Loading Dock (www.loadingdock.org), a building materials reuse facility, subject to the space limitations of a Ford Ranger. Email email@example.com if you are able to volunteer to take one hour shifts to watch the dumpsters (or show up and we can surely use your assistance), or contact Pam Garrettson, 410-925-6225 for more information. Thank you!
