Wireless Field Servers
Each Field Server is connected by Wi-Fi and serves as an AdHoc network Provides hotspots that enables residents and visitors to use the Internet by using a Wi-Fi enabled laptop
Can work as wireless sensor networks and also an infrastructure for providing access to Internet, i.e. ubiquitous networking

Real-time Monitoring
Digital cameras and Web cameras can be connected, and highresolution pictures of fields are transferred through Wi-Fi broadband networks The cameras can be remotely controlled by web browser

Wireless Field Servers Power Supply for Field Server Two Options Available:
AC
- Connect through cable - for backbone or permanent hotspot Solar power - Work as client connection
- Can work in sleep mode; wake up every 30 mins

Web Map Server Web Map Server OGC – Open Geospatial Consortium - international consortium to develop interface specifications - approved specifcations are called OpenGIS specifications - http://www.opengeospatial.org/
OpenGIS Specifications support interoperable solutions that "geo-enable" the Web, wireless and location-based services, and mainstream IT
One of the specifications is Web Map Service - Minnesota Map Server - http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/

Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) OGC Specifies:
SensorML: for encoding sensor characteristics (geolocation, response)
O&M: for encoding of sensor observations and Measurements
Sensor Observation Service (SOS): specifies access to sensor information encoded in SensorML and sensor observations encoded in O&M Sensor Planning Service (SPS): specifies a service to task sensors or sensor systems Web Notification Service (WNS): provides a means for Sensor Planning Services to alert people, software, or other sensor systems of SPS results or alerts regarding phenomena of interest
All make use of XML
