Assadullah spends his days begging for money to feed
his habit.
And it doesn’t take much in Afghanistan.
A gram of heroin in the U.S. sells for $300-dollars.
In Kabul, it goes for about a dollar.

Assadullah, the addict, has tried to get into one of
Afghanistan’s 40 drug rehab centers.
But he can’t.
Too many patients, not enough money.
So he’ll continue living as a junkie.
Assadullah says he’d rather die than live without heroin.
