									                  The Stage

           The stage curtains open,
       The spotlight begins to brighten.
The soft music starts to play,
I dance the dance I've practiced each day.

                I jump on my toes,
              My heart is pounding,
I pirouette and leap gracefully around.
I sauté up and plié to the ground.

               As the music fades,
And the lights begin to dim.
I run to my final position,
          I have fulfilled my ambition:

It was my dream to dance on a stage this grand,
          And not that's been achieved.
         I've finally become a dancer….
I want to repeat it all over again!

                      Alex
