      Lethbridge School District #51 Holy Spirit R.C. Separate Regional Division #4

  RULES

  1. Follow the directions of the driver. The driver may assign seating. 2.

 Remain seated while the bus is in motion.
 3. Keep all objects as well as your head and arms inside the bus.

 4. Open beverage containers and eating are not permitted on regular bus runs

 Consequences - Infractions Of Above - Administered By School STEP ONE - Verbal

 warning

  STEP TWO - Written infraction sent to school - Parents notified by school

 STEP THREE - 1 Day Suspension from riding the bus. Parents notified by school. STEP

 FOUR - 3 Day Suspension from riding the bus. Parents notified by school. STEP FIVE -

 5 Day Suspension from riding the bus. Parents notified by school. Major Offences
  1. Open opposition to authority/willful disobedience.
  2. Use of improper or profane language or gestures.
  3. Fighting and/or the hazing or harassment of other students
  4. Use of tobacco. Lighting of matches or lighters.
  5. Conveyance, using or under influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
  6. The possession, use or conveyance of potentially dangerous items.

 7. Intentional destruction and vandalism of property. (Students will be assessed for damages)

 Consequences - Major Offences - Administered By School. STEP ONE - Written warning sent to

 school. Parents notified by school. STEP TWO - 1 Day Suspension from riding the buses by School

 officials. STEP THREE - 3 Day Suspension from riding the buses by School officials. STEP FOUR - 5 Day

 Suspension from riding the bus. Parents notified by school.

 STEP FIVE - Extended Suspension of riding privileges, for up to 2 months. Superintendent notified. STEP

 SIX - Expulsion from riding the bus for more than 2 months. Referral to School Board. Some steps may

 be skipped depending on the severity of the infraction. Extreme Offences

Alcohol/Controlled Substance possession/use/trafficking - The seriousness of the offence may
warrant immediate suspension and referral to the Police Liaison Officer.

Regulations
 1. Only students and drivers or authorized persons may ride the bus.
2. When you leave the bus, do not cross in front of the bus. Cross the street at a marked crosswalk or intersection
     after the bus has pulled away.
3. Students are expected at their pick up point 5 minutes before the bus arrives. The bus will not

    wait for suspected late arrivals.
4. The bus will leave the school no later than 10 minutes after the dismissal time.

5. While waiting for the bus stay out of the DANGER ZONE. If you can touch the bus you are too close.

City Bylaw #2362
It shall be unlawful for any person to fight, scream, shout, swear, use insulting or obscene language,
smoke, spit or engage in unseemly or disorderly conduct on any Transit/School bus of the City of
Lethbridge.
Lethbridge Transit has installed video cameras on school buses as a means to deter vandalism and identify
student activity which may pose a threat to passenger and driver safety. Lethbridge School District & Holy
Spirit School District collect this information under the authority of School District Policy and in
accordance with Section 32 (C) of the Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act. If you have any
