Hi everybody, It’s David Ledoux here from Did You Smell That dot Com (http://DidYouSmellThat.com) and this is a quick tutorial video for members of my internet training program. We have a free email coaching program as well as private members only tutorials, videos just to help you learn internet marketing. Today’s tutorial is on getting indexed in Google in a hurry. If you’ve ever built a brand new website from scratch, you know that it can take awhile for Google to come around and to index you. So I’m going to show you now how to get indexed in Google. Let’s say you’ve got a blog and you’ve written a post, like I did here, “Roundhouse Kick To The Head This Saturday”. I want to get it to Google in a hurry. One of the ways you can do that is to add back links to your site quickly and there is a number of the ways you can do it. One of the fastest ways is through the social bookmarking. You can use the site called www.SocialMarker.com, which is a utility or an aggregator that helps you to get back links from social bookmarking sites. You know that in your browser you can store your bookmarks, like Bookmarks in Firefox. But what happens if you are using a different computer? Well, the good news is that you can do it on the Internet as well. You can use www.SocialMarker.com. You can see down here all these sites that we bookmark to. One of the first that I’ve been using is called OnlyWire (www.onlywire.com). It is free to join OnlyWire, and you then join about 15 different social bookmarking sites which are also all free. All you need is to set up an account with valid email and unique account name. OnlyWire give you a title of the post (in my example, let’s keep it Roundhouse Kick To The Head This Saturday). This is where you can use some good copywriting skills as well as the keywords. My tags will be “muay thai kickboxing, blogging, webcast”. What I’m doing on this post is I’m actually webcasting muay thai kickboxing competition. Also, you can see all the tags I’ve had in the past that it saves here. Then you comments which will give search engines some way to find this bookmark and give anchor text back to your link. For mine, I’m going to put “A night of hard hitting muay thai kickboxing, webcast in real time over the web!” Down below here you can see all the sites I’m going to put the link back to. Click Bookmark Page and… Done!
Now I have 15 links in progress back to this post. What did that take? 30 seconds? 60 seconds? Now, let me give you one more sneaky tip here on how to do that even better and faster. Let’s open a new window in Firefox and let’s search the term ‘dofollow blogs’. What it does is looking for list of blogs that had enabled to do follow tag, which means that they’ll teach the robots (Google robot, Yahoo robot, etc) that it’s Okay to follow a link on my blog. They came up with Nofollow link because of all the spam problems with blogs. So these are blogs that voluntarily decided that they will let you post on their site in the comments field and they turned off the nofollow. So let’s go to Mom Gadget here, it’s the one with page rank of 4. Now, the trick here is not to be a spammer. You want to find blogs on topic, related to your niches. In my case, gadgets and gismos and working from home is definitely related to my niche. It’s a very nice-looking blog! Mom Gadget, here you are getting some free publicity! Here is a blog about Halloween, plus all these great photos. This is a great blog! Three comments… I’m going to leave her a comment. Scroll down, enter my name – David Ledoux, email, website – http://didyousmellthat.com/intern, because I want to link to my free email coaching program. I will put: “Your website is amazing! I found your blog by googling “dofollow blogs”. And to be on top of the Halloween: “We get a lot of kids at our house that are 10-12 years old, with no costumes. I think Halloween is for little guys and gals and their parents. The big kids always seem to smash our pumpkins and wreak havoc. I did the same thing (unfortunately) when I was their age!” Submit comment. So I’ve added some value to their blog and for the conversation created something real. My comment is awaiting moderation, but what I’m going to do right now for the sake of the example, let’s say some of these blogs, they moderate them within seconds, depending on time of the day you do it. Here I posted my link. You can see my link is under my name, so it’s a link back to my post. I’m going to save this page in OnlyWire. I will put in tags “Halloween gadgets gismos working at home”. And in the comment section – “A super blog from moms who love cool gadgets and gismos.” Bookmark page! So now I’ve gone of my site and added value to my book marks. The more sites you book mark the more trusted you are going to get. Now the search engines are going to find my back links and shoot back to this post on http://momgadget.com, helping this lady’s blog out, getting her more links to this post, more page rank, more rankings, more traffic. Also, some of these people may visit me through this link on my name.
