ANTH 270 Introduction to Linguistic Anthropology This course provides an in-depth introduction to the sub-field of linguistic anthropology, and examines the dynamic intersections between language, self, culture and society. We explore language and identity; language and mind; language and culture; and discourse, power and performance. Students will be introduced to a variety of theoretical approaches, learn basic analytical procedures and have the opportunity to apply these to problems and a field research project.
