A Welcome Message from our Sponsor - NatWest

Philip Clarke Director of Business & Commercial Banking, Chelmsford.

Philip leads NatWest’s small and medium business banking divisions for Chelmsford,
leading a team of fourteen Relationship Directors and Business Development
Managers who work closely with SME businesses in Chelmsford and the surrounding
area. The team is focused on offering a strong combination of relationship banking
and transactional capability. The team is experienced, enthusiastic and has an
appetite for helping businesses grow and remain successful.

NatWest have made a commitment to make funding available to support viable
businesses. We understand during this difficult time small businesses need help
more then ever, so we are supporting our customers and the market with new
initiatives. This includes active support of the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme
(EFG) enabling borrowing of up to £1 million with the support of the UK Government
to ensure businesses have access to working capital and investment funding and the
distribution of European Investment Bank (EIB) funding which operates a loan
support scheme to benefit SME businesses. With a range of borrowing solutions to
meet the needs of business in today's environment and a team of dedicated local
Business Managers to support business we are in great position to help.

We at NatWest are in a position to be able to help businesses with their cash flow by
identifying cash management solutions that realise the potential of surplus funds and
working capital, or help them raise finance to deal with changing market conditions or
necessary growth. Whether it be providing specialist asset or invoice finance, or
looking at the best deposit options, we have the breadth and expertise to help
businesses deal with the challenging environment and prosper in the long term.

Supporting local SMEs through the current downturn is the number one priority for
the Chelmsford team during 2009 and 2010. We would urge any business leaders
who are currently experiencing cash flow problems, or who want to explore
preventative measures before it comes to that, to seek advice about the range of
options available to them. NatWest can also offer advice and funding for business
acquisitions and management buy out opportunities. Remember, the finance solution
should fit the business, rather than the business fit the finance product.

You can hear how NatWest has been supporting small and medium businesses
during this challenging time and what we could do to help your business by attending
our presentation at 10.00am in the main theatre. Alternatively come and speak with
one of our Business Development Managers on our stand.

We are proud to be the lead sponsor of the Chelmsford Showcase and look forward
to meeting with you throughout this two day event.
