Firstly, wander around until you find a bear, and then run as fast as you can back towards the farmhouse. At the farmhouse, run into the fenced garden and the bear will chase you in. Then quickly run out before the bear can kill you and swing the gate shut behind you. The bear will be trapped, and you can fire arrows or spells to kill him. Killing Minotaur Lords the Easy Way Once you rise through the ranks of the Arena and become Grand Champion, weekly you will be able to fight weekly matches for money against different monsters. The toughest of these is the Minotaur Lord and you can end up fighting up to three at a time. An easy way to defeat them is to retreat back into the hall entrance to the Arena pit. The Minotaur Lords are simply too tall to follow after you, and don’t have any long range weapon to attack you with. If you have enough arrows (at least 50 or so) and a bow, or alternatively, a decent arsenal of destructive magic, picking each Minotaur Lord off from a distance is easy. And the best part is you will receive 3200 gold for the victory, and have the ability to pick up the 3 weapons they leave behind (usually ebony war axes, hammers, etc.) Get Recruited into the Dark Brotherhood without a Murder Charge There is a very simple way to get recruited into the Dark Brotherhood without getting caught by the Imperial Guard for murder. If you haven’t already completed it, wait for the Umbacanno quest called "Secrets of the Alyeids" where you have to travel to a distant ruin and help Umbacanno reach the Throne Room. When you get there, there will be a visual disturbance near Umbacanno outside the ruin. You will see Umbacanno talk to somebody and that will give away this Chameleon'd persons location. Go and talk to him and he will say "no hard feelings, it was only business". Bearing in mind that this is after he tried to have you killed by 3 heavily armed cronies. Kill him and take his belongings, and of course this "murder" will be watched by an unknown force. The Imperial Guard doesn't do anything to you, but when you fall asleep, you get a visit from the Dark Brotherhood. Vengeance, no fines, and a new quest line, you cant’ beat it! Grab a Magic Sword You will find an old man talking with the bartender about some creatures threatening his farm, and that the guards don’t want to help. A new dialogue topic will become available to you. Talk to that old man about it and you will receive a quest to defend his farm from goblins. Meet his two sons near Weynon Priory. Speak to them and go with them to the farm. Here you will need to fight off three waves of goblins. Goblins in helms are tough ones, they are goblin skirmishers. Goblins without helms are very weak and can be killed with one or two power blows. It is very important that both brothers survive so you will receive a magical sword when you return to the old man in Grey Mare. Chapter 2 – Spells Destruction Magic Skill Boost To quickly boost your destruction skill, go to the Arcane University and find the area where you can make your own spells. Make a drain fatigue spell (this spell can be bought from Druja in the Skingrad Mages Guild) and cast it on self with the lowest magnitude and all other factors. Then, because this spell reduces you Magicka and fatigue by so little you can use it consistently. This technique boosts your destruction enormously. Easy magic skills You need to have successfully completed all the Mage Guild Recommendation Quests to gain access to Arcane University. Then, buy the cheapest spell you can find for each of the magic based skills (Illusion, Conjuration, Alteration, Mysticism, Restoration, and Destruction). For Destruction, a Drain Spell is best. Go to where you can create your own spells and select a spell. Make it so the spell is on "Self" and you use only 1 Magicka. Create the spell and name it. Do this with all the other types of magic based skills then make them all on "Self", including Destruction. If you used a Drain spell, it may appear to be taking damage from you but it’s not, because you drain it from yourself to yourself. Cast the spells as often as you can. Your skills will increase quickly without having to wait between spell castings. Note: This trick will only work if the spells are cast on "Self". Stack potions Effects If you make potions with an identical effect but give them different names (eg Feather A, Feather B etc), their effects stack. For example, if you make batches of four Feather 274 for 880 seconds potions (A, B, C & D) by drinking one of each you can carry an extra 274*4 feathers. Cast Faster If you block then cast while blocking you can cast much faster (approx 2x speed). Chapter 3 – Weapons / Armour Infinite arrows • Go to the Bloodworks in the arena and find the gladiator that is practicing with his bow on a target. Wait near him and when there are five to ten arrows in the target, take them before he does. He will just continue shooting when you move out of the way. He will keep going so this is an unlimited source of iron arrows, which can be sold to almost any merchant and therefore also makes an unlimited source of gold. Another similar way is to wait outside of the Inn Of Ill Omen where the man is practicing his archery. He is using steel arrows. You can go in front of him and pick the use arrows. He will just wait until you move out of his way. You won’t get into trouble with the guards and you can do this as many times as you want. • Easy Ebony and Umbra Sword Go to the Arena and get some claymores. Then, head directly south of the Imperial Waterfront to a place called the Old Bridge. Move west and follow the road until you reach a ruin that starts with a "V". Once you are inside you will need to get past a number of minor creatures until you will find a girl named Umbra. There is one broken pillar in the room. Use the bench next to it to jump on top of it, then stand at the edge. Use a ranged attack to make her start attacking you. Once she is attacking you take out the claymore and start hitting her. Be careful, she has a lot of health and does a lot of damage. Whatever you do, do not fall off the pillar. If done correctly, you will have full Ebony and a great sword without getting touched. Unnamed sword This is a rather useless trick but still worth doing for a bit of fun. You will need at least 20 paint brushes. Then use the paint brush trick mentioned above to form a set of stairs outside of “A Fighting Chance” in the Imperial City Market District at midnight. Once you get high enough to reach the top of the “ Fighting Chance” store, get on top of the building and look for a chest that is locked. The lock pick level is very difficult. Lock pick it and look inside to find an odd sword without a name. The sword has no attack, breaks easily, and cannot be sold. Chapter 4 – Items Permanent enchantment You can use the following trick for duplication or a permanent enchantment. If a droppable item is equipable with constant effect enchantments you can make them permanent. Although each enchanted item is different, it is a general rule that once an item is made permanent it cannot be re-equipped. You can use the "Duplicate items" trick to make as many as you want, then you can sell them. Use the "Duplicate items" trick mentioned above with a bow an arrows to duplicate the items that you wish to make permanent. Equip one of the items you want to make permanent. However, for this to work there must be an unequipped version of the item still in your inventory. Repeat the "Duplicate items" trick, however this time drop the unequipped version of the item you have equipped and want to make permanent. The downside of this is that the equipped one and the others will drop and you will never be able to equip that item again, but if you check your stats the items bonuses will be permanent. The great thing about this trick is that you can duplicate anything that can be dropped, including Grand Soul Gems with Grand Souls captured. Saving lock picks When you go on a mission for the Thieves Guild, it is much easier to steal keys than to use lock picks. You can steal keys for all the doors from immobile guards or the owner(s) of the place you are robbing. This is easiest after you have levelled up your Sneak skill with the "Easy Sneak level" trick. After you steal the keys you can open nearly every door for the building you are in. Duplicate items Equip a bow and any set of arrows, then draw your bow back. While it is drawn back, press B to go to the inventory screen. Select the arrows that you are using, then go to the item to be duplicated. Press X to drop the item, then leave the equipment screen and resume the game. The item that you dropped will be duplicated. You can pick up all the duplicates and use or sell them. The amount of copies of an item you make depends on how many arrows you have equipped. For example, 10 arrows allows 10 copies. This works with most, but not all, items and weapons. Note: Do not try to duplicate more than 250 copies of an item or the game may freeze. Skeleton Key This is a very useful tool to have. Once you reach level 10, you can do the Weird Shrines. This shrine gives you a lock pick key that never breaks and sets your Security to "Expert". To get it, you must go to Leyawiin south of Imperial City. Then, travel north using the right road (that does not lead to Bravil). Find the shrine called Nocturne, there will be some people praying near it. Go up and activate the shrine. The statue will then proceed to talk about some thieves who stole her eye. Go back to Leyawiin and talk to the guard. He will tell you about Webaa-Na. )You may have encountered him before if you did the quest to become a knight- errant). Talk to both Webaa-Na and his friend. They will admit nothing. Walk away and after a little while they will start talking about trolls or something of the like. They will stop because you are in the room listening. Hide and listen to them talk about it. Once you have heard them talking, they will tell you the location of the eye which is in a cave. Go to the cave, retrieve the eye, and go back to the Nocturne Shrine. You will get the Skeleton Key, which greatly helps lock picking because it does not break. Secret treasure Buy the house in Skingrad, then go to the top floor and find for the room with the deer mantle. Jump on top of the mantle and then jump again onto the loft design in the back corner. There you will find an old note that has a riddle on it which leads to a treasure. Getting desired Sigil Stones While in Sigillum Sanguis (the Sigil Keep at the top of an Oblivion Citadel), save the game while standing in front of the Sigil Stone, before grabbing it. If you do not get the desired effects from the stone, load from the point before you grabbed it and try again. The Sigil Stone you get is chosen at random upon removing it. Enemy and item levels All enemies outside the cities and some inside will level as you level. For example, if you are at level 10 and are fighting Boars outside the city, when you reach level 15 you will be fighting a Troll. The same goes for missions such as the Forlorn Watchman. If you do the quest at level 10, you will fight Ghosts on the ship. If you do it at level 20, you will fight Wraiths. Very often it’s not worth wasting time trying to level up just to beat one opponent in a quest because they could be set to always be three levels above you. This same style of progression also works with armour and weapons: Armour Fur/Iron: Level 1 Leather/Steel: Level 13 Chain/Dwarven: Level 16 Mithril/Orchish: Level 110 Elven/Ebony: Level 115 Glass/Daedric: Level 120 Weapons Iron: Level 11 Steel: Level 12 Silver: Level 14 Dwarven: Level 16 Elven: Level 19 Glass: Level 112 Ebony: Level 116 Daedric: Level 120 Note: You will usually find that the armour and weapons do not appear at traders until you are two levels above them, sometimes longer. Also, any "secret" weapons such as the Umbra and the NPCs with them or wearing the "secret" armour are level locked. They will not get any more difficult because usually their levels are already about 22 to 30. However, as you become better with a blade (in the Umbra's case), the better the attack will be. Different weapons in Taking Care Of Lex quest While doing the ''Taking Care Of Lex" quest for the Thieves Guild, you must scald the paper with Lex's seal. There is a chest just beside the desk where the seal is. If you come in the door directly behind the chest, you will get an Elven long sword, Glass long sword, Orcish helmet, and a Mythril shield. If you come in from the door upstairs, you will get an Elven long sword and Dwarven greaves. If you come in the exact entrance, you will not be able to open the chest. Items Slowing You Down? Have you ever wanted to be able to carry more weapons that your current capacity, or you just don’t want your weapons slowing you down. Well there is a solution that allows you to carry a lot of weapons, armour, potions, and /or misc items that you don’t want in your own inventory. Once you are given the magical horse, "Shadowmere" from the Dark Brotherhood, you won’t want to use any horse, simply because it’s invincible. So the trick is to beat down the horse until it’s unconscious. Then immediately, before it gets back up, go to the horse search the body like you would with normal enemies, etc. Usually, an unconscious character will only provide you with the option, "Talk", while the character is still on the ground. You can search the horse, push the left trigger button and drop in whatever you need carrying. This will allow you to carry far more than you possibly on your personal inventory while in battle. Tired of being Over Encumbered? Tired of always being over encumbered? Well here are some tips that can help reduce the hassle. You will need a fairly high alchemy and entrance to the Arcane University. Once easy way to solve the problem is to enchant a weapon or piece with a fortify strength or feather spell. Or a second way to solve the problem is alchemy. If you have a fairly high alchemy you can make feather potions that reduce weight by the hundreds for several minutes. You can drink several of these at once so you can hold more than 1200 lbs for over 500 seconds. Storing Items Without a House If you haven’t got a house it might seem like a good idea to store things in random containers. However this is not a good idea because when the game refreshes you may well loose your belongings. The best place to store things is on rooftops. Stable buildings outside of towns work well. There’s usually a way to jump onto the building from hills or rocks. Your items are out of sight and NPCs generally don’t go climbing up on rooftops so your stuff stays where you put it. Storing Loot in Bones It can be a very disheartening experience to have to part with your valuable loot due to over encumbrance. You can solve that problem by killing an enemy that falls to pieces, like skeletons or storm atronachs. Then pick up a fragment of their corpse. You can then proceed to store as much loot as you like in the tiny bone or whatever. Just carry the piece with you back to town, where you can sell or store it. Powerful Doom Stones In addition to the normal Doom Stones you see dotted around the place (the ones with the names of the birth signs) there are 7 extra ones, the powers of which you get to keep, even after activating other ones. Easy Black Soul Gems For the more evil of you, you find out in the course of the Mages' Guild quests that regular soul gems are being turned into black soul gems which can house human souls. If you put soul gems in the altar and cast soul trap on it, you will get the black soul gems also. You can only do it one night a week, when there is a ray of light shining down on it. Find all the Daedric Shrines If you're stuck finding all of the Daedric Shrines, read the book "Modern Heretics: A Study of Daedra Worship in the Empire" It can be found in Colour Ruler Temple or else on the ground floor of the Mystic Archives in the Arcane University. This book gives you the "Daeda Worship" and "Daedric Shrines" topics so you can find the shrines easier. There are a few shrines which you have to just find yourself however. Keep Stolen Goods when you are arrested This is a very simple but effective trick. When you are about to get arrested, go to your inventory and drop all stolen goods. You can then go back afterwards and collect them. Chapter 5 – Money Infinite Gold There are a number of different ways to get your hands on large amounts of gold without much effort. We have included the ones that we think are most useful below. • A quick tip for some good money if you don't want to use cheats. Wait for after 9pm and pick the lock on the chest by the arena. There's 500 gold in there, and it replenishes randomly. Find a house owned by a man named Dorian (Dorian's House) in the southeast section of the Talos Plaza District in the Imperial City. Break into his house and find him. When he tells you to leave, kill him. Instead of looting him and taking all he has, take each item individually. Finishing with the gold, which will not run out once it hits 8 pieces. Just keep selecting the gold he is carrying and keep pressing A as usual. Do this repeatedly, and when the number of gold pieces remaining gets down to 8 it will freeze. It will not go any lower, but will just keep giving you as much gold as you want. Note: Once you break in and he tells you to get out talk to him before you kill him and go to "Persuade" and bribe him a lot. He will now have more money to loot, which makes it easier to get more faster. To do this you will need a horse and an expensive weapon, the more expensive the better. Get on your horse and fast travel to Kvatch. Once you get there, equip your most expensive weapon and travel until you find a little camp with people gathered around on the road to Kvatch. Talk to the female Orc merchant while on your horse and sell her your equipped sword. The message "You cannot un-equip this item" will appear, but you will still get the money. You can do this as many times as you want for 200 GP each time. This only works with your equipped sword, any other items will be sold as usual. You will need to become a vampire and then seek the Mages Guild help in Arcane University. You will be sent to Skingard to talk to the count. The count will tell you who to find in order to get the cure. Complete this quest, and after giving the Counts' wife the potion, he won’t at talk to you for a day. The next time that you speak to him he will reward you with 500 gold. If you keep talking to him you can continue to select “Reward" and you will be given 500 gold each time, even if you leave and come back. Repeat this as many times as desired to get an unlimited amount of gold. Note: If you leave and come back make sure you select his room lock and bribe him fully so that the guards don’t get called. Also it’s best to do this before the mage's second or third task because after that the Count of Skingard will not talk to you. • • • • A Woman will approach you in the Imperial City and ask you to see a man, go to this house. He will tell you that he and his group are vampire hunters. Follow the Virtuous Order quest line and you will find out that the man you are hunting is in fact not a vampire. Do not kill him. Talk to him and he will say that the man that sent you is actually the vampire. Go to the bookstore. The man will tell you about a cave. Go there and kill all the vampires and take their vampire dust. Once you have killed the main vampire, return to the Imperial City. You will be rewarded with a ring, but he will also tell you that the order will pay you for every vampire that you kill. All you need for proof is vampire dust. You can use the "Duplicate items" trick on the vampire dust to get as many as you need. If you talk to the man about vampires he will keep giving you 250 gold for each vampire dust that you have. This means that when you get down to the last vampire dust you can just duplicate as many more as you want and keep making easy money. • Use the "Duplicate items" trick inside a store. It is best to choose an item to duplicate that is worth a lot of gold. Then sell all but one of the item that was duplicated, then repeat the process as many times as you want. It is possible to make up to 50,000 gold in a few minutes. The Wizard's Tower download gives you a new merchant to barter with at The Mystic Emporium in the Market District of Imperial City. She has 2000 gold to barter with and she sells a Strong Potion of Absorption for 2000+ gold. Buy the Strong Potion of Absorption and then using the duplicate item trick mentioned above clone as many as you want. Then, you just turn around and sell the potions right back to her for massive cash. This is an easy way to make lots of money right at the start of the game. If you've bought the Skingrad house and the servant upgrade, you can make real money as the maid supplies free Shepherd's Pies that can be transformed into Cure Disease potions (and there's a buyer for them next door but one) • • Gold from Count of Skingrad The count of Skingrad is very forgetful. Upon completion of the vampire quest (the one where you try and cure yourself of vampirism) he will offer you a reward for ending his wife’s pain. However he won’t remember that he has given you this reward. You can keep asking him about the reward for 2,500 gold and he will keep giving it to you. Chapter 6 – Skills Easy experience To do this you must have a major skill of Sneak and either Destruction or Alteration. Firstly if your skills are Sneak and Destruction, gain access to Arcane University. Go to the area to make spells. Make a Drain Health spell that is set to "Self" and only uses 1 Magicka. Then, head upstairs. Go into Sneak mode and just run into the wall without stopping. Then activate the magic spell repeatedly to gain levels quickly. Note: When you activate the magic spell it will seem as if it is hurting you, but it is not. Secondly If your skills are Sneak and Alteration, go into a room with a container (for example, cupboard, drawers, etc.). Run into the container in Sneak mode and use a "open very easy lock" repeatedly on the container. Easy skill bonuses Gain access to Arcane University. Then, create a Fortify Skill 100 spell that lasts for a few seconds on-self for Mercantile and/or Armorer. Cast the Mercantile spell in front of a merchant, activate them, and you will be able to invest 500 gold at their store without being a Master in Mercantile. In addition, you can drive harder bargains. For Armorer, cast the spell and then equip an Armorer's Hammer. You can now use your hammer infinitely without being a Master Armorer. You cannot, however, repair magical items without having legitimately reached the Journeyman Armorer level. Similar spells can be created for other attributes and/or skills: Personality and Speech craft for raising people's dispositions, Security for picking any lock, etc. Easy Acrobatics skill Instead of moving around on foot, jump to your desired destination. This will quickly increase your Acrobatics skill. Or you can find some stairs or a steep hill and just jump your way up. That way you will be airborne for as short as possible and can start a new jump. Easy Alchemy skill Firstly you need to steal a mortar and pestle. Then steal as many food items as you can and turn them into potions. You can use the "Duplicate items" trick to duplicate two different types of food (such as apples and lettuce or other fruits). Try to get over 100 of each food. Then, use your mortar and pestle to create potions from the food. Make the potions as fast as possible with the duplicated food. When you run out of food to make the potions, just duplicate some more and repeat the process. It is possible to get your Alchemy skill to Master in less than ten minutes. Easy Alteration skill To get quickly increase your Alteration skill, you will need to have these spells: Open Average Lock, Open Easy Lock, and Open Very Easy Lock. Then, find a chest that you would normally need a key or have to lockpick. Use the opposite spell of the chest. For example, if the chest requires the easy spell, use the very easy spell on it. It’s handy to have some Magicka potions or you can just wait an hour every time you exhaust your Magicka supply. You will find that in a short period of time you will have levelled your Alteration skill dramatically. Easy Armour skill There is a woman named Arvena Thelas in the town of Anvil who has four rats in her basement (the same as the first Fighter's Guild quest). If your level is high enough that rats will not cause you significant damage. Break into her house and annoy the rats by punching them (or casting drain fatigue spells if your punch is too strong), then let all four rats attack you while occasionally casting a heal spell. You will find that your Armour skill will increase quickly. This can also be used to raise your Block skill, and is much easier than repeatedly causing summoned monsters to attack you. Easy Athletics skill You will need an enchanted amulet, ring, or other item that you can enchant with Water Breathing. Make sure that it is a constant effect. Then equip the item with Water Breathing and jump into some water. Swim to the bottom and hold the Analog-stick Up (or use a rubber band to hold the Analog-stick Up) to keep swimming into the floor. Your Athletics skill will greatly increase in just five minutes. Easy Conjuration skill Head to the town of Bruna, go east and then southeast. If you reach The Red Ruby Cave you have gone too far. You will need to go back west slightly. You will see a shrine. Once you activate it, it will give you Conjuration points as well as a temporary bound weapon and/or greaves. You can keep activating the shrine every 24 hours. Wait in front of it for 24 hours, then activate it again. Repeat this as many times as you want. Easy Hand-To-Hand skill To do this you will need to be invisible, (use the super character cheat).. Once you have Invisibility, find a guard and start beating him up using hand-to-hand combat. Once he dies, more guards will keep spawning. You can just keep beating them up. You can also find a character that is marked with a crown that will not die it only becomes unconscious. Because they do not see you, it’s quite easy. Also, they never die, so you can endlessly beat them up until you master your Hand-To-Hand combat. Your skill increases about every 20 seconds or more, depending on how high your skill level already is. Easy Sneak skill • An easy way to increase your Sneak skill is to find someone who is sleeping. Find a wall that they are near, then run against the wall while sneaking. As long as no one can see you, your skill will increase until the person wakes. If this happens, wait until night and allow them go back to sleep. When you have the option to join the Thieves Guild by meeting Armand Christope, agree to meet him at the Imperial Water Front garden around 11 p.m. He will offer you the option to buy lock picks, but don’t buy any. Go into Sneak mode and get behind him. Pick pocket him as many times as you like. You will get the lock picks and increase your sneak skill. He will just tell you that he doesn’t need them anyway. After the assassination of Emperor Uriel Septim (during the opening mission), leave the Emperor's body with Baurus (one of his guards). Walk down the newly revealed "secret" passage, then turn around. Put yourself in the position so that you can see Emperor Septim's body and part of Baurus. Walk to the nearest corner (to your left),go into Sneak mode, then walk forward, this will quickly increase your Sneak level. Check back about every fifteen minutes, as the game will pause as you reach Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, or Master Classifications. If done correctly, you should be at 100 Sneak within ninety minutes. Firstly you must join the Dark Brotherhood. When you receive your first quest to kill Rufio, enter his room and go into Sneak mode. Because Rufio sleeps for 20 hours a day it is easy to walk around in his room in sneak mode and easily increase your sneak levels. Once again you can use a rubber band to keep moving. You need to successfully complete the Fighting Arena in the Imperial City and become Grand Champion. Go outside once you collect all your money from the Bloodworks person. There will be a kid that runs up to you and says that he is your biggest fan and ask if he can follow you around. Select "Yes you may follow me around" and he will go wherever you go. Go a place that is away from guards and people. Go into Sneak mode pickpocket the kid. You will be brought into his inventory. Press B to exit out of his inventory. Do not steal anything. Repeat this by pressing A to pick pocket and B to exit. You will gain Sneak experience very quickly. This may seem like a cruel thing to do but he doesn’t care because he is your "biggest fan". • • • • Easy Speech skill Find a person whom you do not care not liking you (preferably a guard). Go into Persuade mode and rapidly rotate the Left Analog-stick and tap the select key. It doesn’t matter what you pick, just rotate and tap. You can go over level 40 Speech in about five minutes. Level Up Just by Watching There are 2 places where you can level up just by watching. Firstly outside the Arena in the Imperial City, there are 2 combatants fighting hand-to-hand from 6am to 1am. Look at them for a minute or 2 and you will level up in hand-tohand by 5 points. Secondly outside the Colour Ruler Temple, here are 2 Blades fighting. Watch them to level up 2 points in each Blade and Block. Chapter 7 – Fun and Interesting Stuff Super character To do this you need: Access to Arcane University, a Chameleon spell, two rings, a necklace/amulet, any two pieces of armor (a helmet and shield would be best, because although you could use any armor for this you may want to enchant them with defensive magic later), five Grand Soul Gems with Grand Souls in them, and 8,000 gold. Once you have all these things go to the Chironasium (enchanting section) in Arcane University. Find an enchanting stand and enchant the necklace, rings, and armor with a Chameleon spell using the Grand Soul Gems. Each enchantment gives you 20% Chameleon effect, so all five enchantments will make you 100% Chameleon. This not only makes you invisible but also allows you to attack, steal, open, and pick-up without being revealed. This allows you to steal from a shop without the shopkeepers doing anything. Also your enemies will also just stand still unable to attack, allowing you to go into Sneak mode and attack for 4x to 6x damage, and pickpocket without consequence ( This doesn’t work on guards, but they still can’t attack you even if you resist arrest.) Infinite Health To do this you need to use the "Duplicate items" trick on a potion of strong health. Repeat the duplication to get the desired amount of potions. Open the inventory screen and go to the strong potion of health. Hold Y and quick link it to one of the Analog-stick directions. Then whenever you are low on health you can just tap the hotkey direction to use a potion. When you start running low on health potions, repeat the duplication process. Nocternal's Cown When you successfully complete all quests in the Thieves Guild, the Gray Fox will give you the promotion of Guild Master, and the Nocternal's Cown. Nocternal's Cown will let you see living things as energy even through walls. Note: When you equip Nocternal's Cown, you are the Gray Fox. when guards see you they will try to arrest you. Nocternal's Cown also lets you carry more items and increases your Sneaking skill. Unicorn The Unicorn can be found at Harcane's Grove, which is northeast of Inn Of III Omen and east of Mingo Cave. It is protected by four Minotaurs. The easiest way to reach this area is to move west/southwest from Fort Variela, which is on the coast of the upper Niben River. By doing this, you will see the Unicorn before the Minotaurs see you. Note: If you do encounter the Minotaurs, do not start fighting them close to the Unicorn or the Unicorn will join with them against you, and you will not be able to mount it. Just run up to the Unicorn, mount it, and run away. The Unicorn is both fast and immune to regular weapons. Floating paintbrushes There are paintbrushes stored in various containers throughout the game. If you take one out and drop it, it won’t fall but will float in the location you were looking at when you dropped it. You can drop them in sets of two or more and use them as steps to reach high places. You can also use them as barriers between you and enemies. Launch items from chair This is a trick that you can have some fun with. Take a large item and set it on a chair. Then, sit in the chair and you will launch the item across the room. Try this with watermelons. Leave level boundary Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be outside the world of Oblivion? You can use the following trick to get outside the boundary in Frost Fire Glade. When you do the "Tears Of The Saviour" (finding Garridans Tears) quest, go to where you must put the refined frost salts on the door (in the cave). Go through the door and head right. Go up the steep slope on the left side of the tree sitting in between two rocks. Repeatedly jump on the left side of the second rock (on the left side of the tree). Once you have moved a certain distance you will stop jumping. However if you quickly pull Away then Forward again (you may have to do this multiple times) you will eventually jump and do a little slide and go further up the slope. If you continue to do this multiple times while adjusting your character accordingly, you will eventually slide through a gap between the big rock and two little stones. You will then be outside the level. Be careful about dropping down the second level of the outside map, as you will not fall, but if you walk forward to quickly there is a very steep slope. Try walking sideways slowly and you will eventually get down as if you are walking on a slant. Use the Gray Fox' Cowl of Nocturnal without being Arrested Obviously the Gray Fox Cowl gives you great powers and is a really, really handy thing to have. These powers include: life detection for 120 feet, feathering your inventory by 200 or allowing you to carry 200 more units of items, add 25 points to your sneak score, give you another identity to which you can complete quests for, allowing you to use another identity to murder people in plain daylight or commit any crime and then take it off and only the Gray Fox will have the bounty not you, and you get to lead the Thieves guild While all these things are great, there is a downside. The Gray Fox Cowl automatically gives you a 500 gold bounty, which makes guards chase you wherever you go. However there is a solution. If you use the super character cheat (also in this book) you can sneak around using all the benefits of the Gray Fox Cowl undetected by guards. Spell-casting Trick for Super High Jumps Here is a spell casting trick you can use to make super high jumps. You can see the world map from a bird's eye view, which is really cool. Spell #1 Weakness to Fire %3 for 1 sec on self Weakness to Magicka %100 for 1 sec on self Fortify Acrobatics 25 pts for 20 sec on self Fortify Magicka 25 pts for 20 sec on self Spell #2: Weakness to Fire %3 for 1 sec on self Weakness to Magicka %100 for 1 sec on self Fortify Acrobatics 50 pts for 10 sec on self Fortify Magicka 50 pts for 10 sec on self Cast these 2 spells on and off, you may need a few potions to get through the first part to restore Magicka. After awhile, however, your Magicka will be very, very high. Cast about 30 or so times, your Acrobatics skill will be around 150k+, Jump and have fun. NOTE: You can do this with any skill, and still have different effects, however, when tested with speed, you end up running over city walls and the game never renders the outside graphics, it's fun to run around, but eventually freezes the game. Save first because the fall may easily kill you, unless you cast the spells on the way down as well. Become Invisible First, gather as many "chameleon" Sigil Stones or Enchanted items as possible. The best ones are the Chrystaline Cuirass and the Grand Ring of Chameleon. You can find their total percent on the constant effects tab under ‘Magic’. Wear the necessary amount to bring your total up to or above 100. You are now completely invisible. You can complete any quest without being seen, take any action without sneaking, and never get a bounty (except for assaulting guards). You can walk right up to Daedra and beat them to death as slowly as you like. This cheat is great for boosting your stats in any skill fairly quickly. It’s also good for taking on high level bosses or thieving. For this cheat to be effective, do not complete the main quest Have the Imperial Guards Kill the Pirates Whatever your reason may be for hating the guards, there is an easy way to get rid of them. Firstly you need to talk to all of them including the first mate while the siege on the waterfront is active and Imperial Guards are everywhere, especially near the pirate ship. Then run onto the ship and the pirates will pull out their swords and try to attack you, but here's the Elite Imperial Guard to the rescue. They will slaughter every single pirate there without taking a loss, allowing you to raid their ship for all its worth without worrying about pirates attacking you. However this will make it impossible to receive a quest to save the bloated float from the pirate attack, because the pirates will be ….. dead. Explore the Bodies of Water If you decide that you would like to see the entire contents of a body of water (lakes, steams, etc), jump into the water and descend down very slowly and incrementally while looking forward and slightly down. If you do this part correctly you will be able to see the water separate from your view, and instantly, everything in the water beneath you is 100% lit up and visible. This is very useful for treasure hunting or killing those damn fish. Fun With Corpses This trick is purely for fun. Everyone laughs about how when you kill something it can roll down a hill forever. But another cool thing to do is cast a lightning spell on the fallen enemies. If you hit the right spot it will send them flying high into the air. Then you can put dead bodies on rooftops and get them stuck in trees and all sorts of funny stuff. Chapter 8 - Miscellaneous Easy Imperial Arena You will need a bow or some decent spells. Also make sure you have at least 30 in Acrobatics. Immediately after the gate drops, run to your right, to where the right gate meets the fence. Jump onto the stone piece that juts out, then jump again to get on top of the little piece sticking out above it. Once you reach the top you can turn and fire on your helpless victims. When you have to fight mages or archers, stay on the ground and strafe behind the four central pillars for easy kills. Making stolen items authentic When you steal items, most of the merchants will not buy them. However you can use the following trick to authenticate them. Firstly, get into jail and escape. Take your items authenticated or pay for your days in jail and you will have the items authenticated again. It is only worth doing this for stolen items that are worth quite a lot. Making Black Soul Gems Take an empty Grand Soul Gem and a Soultrap spell to any of the four Necromancer lairs. Find the altar which is only active one day of the week. You may need to wait up to six game days. Place your Gem on the altar when it is active and cast Soultrap on it to make a Black Soul Gem. These are used for capturing the souls of NPCs. You also need one for one of the Daedric Quests as a tribute to the shrine. Good cheap house Go into the inn at the city of Anvil. Inside you will find a man whose name starts with a "B". He is selling his grandfather's old manor. You can purchase it for a bargain price of 5,000 gold, The house is ugly and haunted at first. However, after completing the quick quest the house will be fixed up without any additional payment. You can then sell the house for considerably more money. Vampires Becoming a vampire Before becoming a vampire, it is recommended that you become a member of the Mages Guild, have access to the Arcane University, and either a member of the Dark Brotherhood or started the Order of Virtuous Blood quest. Dark Brotherhood Story: You have to kill an innocent person to become a member of the Dark Brotherhood, go to sleep in an inn, travel to the Inn of Ill Omen, and kill Rufio. Travel to the Sanctuary and talk to Vicente and finish all of his contracts. He will then ask if you wish to become a vampire. Say "Yes", then sleep on the slab. When you wake up, sleep again for twenty four hours three times. You are now a full-fledged vampire. Order Of Virtuous Blood Story. It is not required to begin the quest, but if you do the vampires will be easier to kill. If you have not, travel along the river just to the east of Imperial City until you find a cave. Inside you should find lots of vampires. Attack one and let it hit you a few times. Kill it, then go back to Imperial City. Get a room at an inn and sleep for twenty four hours three times. You are now a full-fledged vampire. Benefits and weaknesses of being a vampire Vampires get a boost in many of their stats and abilities. The increase in abilities of a vampire is determined by how long he goes without feeding, not how long he goes without feeding. As a guide, for each day a vampire goes without feeding, he will get a 5 point increase to his vampire stats and skills. The vampire must sleep or wait to receive these increases.The game will notify you of these stat boosts. At this stage light will not harm him if he is well fed, but he will have 25% weakness to fire. After the first stat boost (which boosts vampire stats from 5 to 10), he will loose this weakness to fire. Once can see all the current effects on his character by looking under the magic tab, then the last of the five tabs in the magic section. The first thing is a "vampire meter" that has a percentage of how much one is a vampire (25% intervals, starting at 25% going up to 100 in four stages). Depending on how high that percentage is, the sun will do more or less damage to you. Sun Damage ranges from 1 all the way to 8 and furthermore, the time of the day is also important for sun damage. At dusk and dawn the damage done is very small, even to a 100% vampire. However, at noon the sun can be very dangerous to a full vampire, he will have just enough time to run from one house on the street to the other (depending on how much life he has). Being a vampire increases a number of stats, including: Vampire Stats, Strength, Speed, Willpower, Sneak, Mysticism, Illusion, Hand to Hand, Destruction, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Resist Normal Weapons. And depending on which stage of the vampire you are in, you will get from 5 to 20 points in each of these stats (25% vampire = 5 points; 25% vampire = base vampire, fully fed). Other special stats or skills get added depending on the vampire level. Certain vampire skills that are always present are: Hunter's Sight (Nighteye and Detect Life), Resist Disease 100%, and Resist Paralysis 100%. Vampire 25% Weakness to Fire: 20 +5 to all of the vampire stats Vamipre 50% Vampiric Seduction (charm on touch) +10 to all of the vampire stats Vampire 75% Reign of Terror (fear) +15 to all of the vampire stats Vampire 100% Embrace of Shadows (Invisibility + Night Eye) +20 to all of the vampire stats Note: Most people and merchants will not talk to you as a vampire. At base level you get +5 to Strength, Willpower, Speed, Acrobatics, Athletics, Destruction, Hand 2 Hand, Illusion, Mysticism, and Sneak. You also get a resistance to disease and paralysis, and a small resistance to normal weapons. For each day that you go without feeding (up to a maximum of four days), your boosted skills will go up by an additional 5, as will your resistance to normal weapons. You also get a spell for each of the four days; on day one Hunter's Sight (Night Eye/Detect life), on day two Vampire's Seduction (Charm), on day three Reign of Terror (silence/demoralise area), and finally on day four Embrace of the Shadows (180 seconds Invisibliity, 90 seconds Night Eye). The weaknesses are, on day one (within 24 hours of last feeding) weakness to fire, you are safe from the sun; on day two (48 hours from last feeding), burn in sunlight; on day three (72 hours from last feeding), increased damage from sun; and on day four (over 96 hours from last feeding), everyone will recognize you as a vampire and most will not interact with you and there will be another increase in sun damage. Feeding as a vampire If you have a good Sneak skill you can feed from a sleeping person without waking them. Cure for vampiricy You become a vampire after you have been bitten and go to sleep. So the easiest thing to do is to load up the auto save right before you went to sleep then head to a church and click on the altar or cast/drink a cure disease potion. Then you will kill the disease that would have made you a vampire. Or if you don’t have an auto save before you went to sleep there is another way. You must first have access to Arcane University. Go in and talk to the mage and he will tell you to talk to a man in Skingrad. Do as he says and run errands for whoever you need to talk to. Eventually you will be allowed to get rid of your vampiricy. Is This a Threat? If you are unsure about whether or not you are under threat by an attacker, quickly enter sneak mode. If the crosshair is bright yellow, beware. How to Pick any Lock Easily Picking a lock successfully without using the auto-pick button does not depend on your security skill. Rather it depends on what you know and how fast your fingers are. To successfully snap a tumbler into place, keep pushing the tumbler up with the lock pick until the tumbler moves upward then down slowly, then back down. Once you see that, the next time you push up will be a definite snap into place, if of course your fingers are fast enough. Just push it that one last time and click it into place as soon as possible and it will stay up. This allows you to avoid relying on the sound patterns all the time, which also comes in handy. Most importantly, DO NOT BECOME IMPATIENT! If you are impatient you will break MANY lock picks on just a 2 or 3 tumbler lock. You need to expect to break a few lock picks on locks that qualify as average or higher. But don’t worry, normally the chests you lock pick will have 1 or 2 lock picks in them anyway, so you are good to go. Fortify Security for Lock-picking This is a great way for picking really hard locks successfully. When you have access to the Arcane University, make a spell that fortifies your security skill. It won’t cost you more than 50 mana even if it increases your skill by 100 points. The spell only has to last for 1 second as the game pauses when you are in the lock pick menu. So you end up casting a 50 mana spell to have a security of 100... and none of the tumblers fall when you break a pick. The Best Time to Commit a Crime Most people go to sleep in the game around 1am. So if you want to commit a crime you are much less likely to be seen if you commit it after 1am. Cant Fast Travel as a Vampire In some cases sun damage can keep you from fast travelling when you are a vampire. If this happens you will need to wait and recover your health. Lower Oblivion's Difficulty Level It may seem like a bit of a cheats way out, (but hey, isn’t that what you’re here for) but you can lower Oblivions difficulty level for parts of the game if you want. Go to the game play category. You will see a difficulty bar, make that go to the easy side and it’s as simple as that! One hit or shot can kill a wolf, deer, mud crab, bandit, even guards are not a huge challenge anymore! Get Guard to take care of your Bounty If a guard likes you enough, and you have a bounty, he will take care of it for you for free (Only works for the guards with low responsibility levels. These tend to be the ones without names).
