RE: Administrator's Report
The following is my report for the regular Town Board meeting of Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
Worked on the Town Beat. Articles were submitted to EP Direct on Tuesday, October 13. At the time
of this memo, I had not received a “proof” yet. I am hoping to have the newsletter completed by
October 21. The Deputy Inspector Bill Hebert did a nice job helping me out. If the newsletter is not
completed by Wednesday, October 21, Bill Hebert will need to finish it.
Patricia Jahns and I worked on the health insurance quotes for December 2009. This was presented to
the Town Board at our last budget meeting.
Attended the Chamber’s presentation on workplace manners in the technology-age. The presenter
covered proper etiquette for e-mail. They were some discussion on the new social networking through
Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
Attended the Connectivity Committee meeting on Thursday, October 15. Another broadband
company has expressed interest in working with the Town. They plan on attending the next Town
As discussed at our last budget workshop, I planned on giving the Town Board an update on our budget. I have
finalized the numbers based on the recommendations from the Town Board. The health insurance numbers
were slightly better than anticipated due to corrections on age brackets for employees. As advised, the revenues
were bumped up slightly to reflect the contract with Kronenwetter, which balanced our budget. We finally
received our tax levy worksheets and we have successfully completed them. Based on the levy limits and total
budgeted presented the estimated tax rate for 2009 payable in 2010 is: $3.064584. This calculated through my
estimated worksheet. I am usually within hundredth of a penny. I want the Board to aware that the rate may
actually reflect $3.07, depending on the rounding. This does meet our levy limit requirement. The Town has
maximized its rate.
This will be my last Administrator’s report until I return from maternity leave. I will return to work on Monday,
December 21. I will be available via e-mail and phone. I will be stopping by the office periodically to check my
mailbox. I also plan on attending the budget hearing in November. I really appreciate the Town Board’s
cooperation during this important time in my life. My family greatly appreciates it.
This concludes my report. Thank you.
