Training Description

Libra Television is an Independent Production Company based in Central
Manchester that specialises in Education and Children’s content for television
and online.

      After the 12 week placement there is a possibility of being offered a
       contract

      A clean driving licence would be an advantage

Training Role and Key Responsibilities

    To be the first point of contact for anyone contacting Libra. Greet visitors to the
     office, field telephone calls, deal with emailing inquiries, etc.
    Distribute incoming post and ensure post out tray is emptied daily.
    Book taxis/hire cars/couriers and keep necessary records.
    Make bookings on company credit card and keep necessary records.
    Keep track of staff holiday records.
    Reply to employment/work experience inquiries and filing CVs.
    Keep all contact lists up to date - internal staff, suppliers and clients.
    Manage Managing Directors’ diaries.
    Keep all office stationery stock up to date.
    Induction of new members of staff re the fire procedures, health & safety, toilets
     etc and provide them with a key if necessary
    Manage petty cash.
    Liaise with external IT support.
    Updating the Libra website on a monthly basis
    Set new people up on the internal email network system
    Change the server backup tapes and store.
    Keep ‘New to Libra’ documents up to date
    Manage hospitality. Keep teas/milk/coffee etc fully stocked.
    Brew up and wash up!
    Deal with rubbish and recycling.
    Keep cleaning supplies fully stocked and liaising with office cleaner.
    General office management including office tidiness
    Running duties as needed


Placement End

We hope that by the end of the placement the individual would have gained specific knowledge,
experience and competences in the following areas –

    Supporting Production Manager, to whom you will report directly
    Assist with call sheets for shoots
    Book travel & hotels
    Provide correct release forms before a shoot and give to production team
    Assist on location shoots if necessary
    Running errands to facility houses in Central Manchester
    Logging – transcribing whatever is on rushes tapes
    keeping track of shooting tapes that come in and out the office
    Digitise rushes tapes
    Transfer rushes tapes
    Assist with keeping edit room tidy
    Assist with programme deliverables and documentation
