Introduction and Overview
The Priority Modeling enhancement is based on customer feedback from the 2008 User Group
Meeting. The customers identified a need to see how their nominations would be scheduled
and prioritized before they were processed and scheduled by the system.

Specific features provided by this enhancement:

 Allow customers to create different timely modeling scenarios based on requested
nominations to determine how to best utilize their capacity by being able to preview
their scheduled quantities and projected priorities before nomination batch processing.

 Allow customers to create different intraday modeling scenarios based on requested
and scheduled nominations to determine how to best utilize their capacity by being
able to preview their scheduled quantities and projected priorities before nomination
       batch processing.

 The customer can create as many modeling scenarios as they want, and once satisfied
with the results, the modeling scenarios can be applied to actual nominations and
       submitted to the LINK® System.

 The new Priority Modeling screen is an extension of the existing Nomination screen. All
rules, validations, and security checks will apply to make the modeling scenarios as
       accurate as possible.

 Priority Modeling is also compatible with recently rolled out enhancements such as
Customized Grid and BA Level Nomination.

 Will be implemented on all pipes that use scheduling priorities. These pipes include:
Algonquin, East Tennessee, Maritimes & Northeast U.S., Southeast Supply
       Header, and Texas Eastern.

                                               3
Priority Modeling Process

To use the new Priority Modeling process, begin in the existing Nomination screen and either
type the contract number in the „Svc Req K‟ field or press the „Filters‟ button to use the BA Level
Nomination functionality to retrieve any nominations that are to be included in the Priority
Modeling process.

Click here to learn more about the BA Level Nomination functionality.

                                                 4
After the contract number has been entered or the BA Level Nomination functionality used,
enter the nomination dates that are to be modeled in the „Beg Date‟ and „End Date‟ fields.

Please note that Priority Modeling cannot be used retroactively.

Next hit the „Retrieve‟ button to display all the possible nominations to be modeled.

                                                5
After the nominations are displayed, select the „Edit‟ button to enter edit mode. Once in edit
mode, nominations can be further refined by using the „Model‟ check box in the data grid. Only
nominations that are checked in the „Model‟ column will be brought into the new Priority
Modeling screen. By default, all nominations retrieved are already checked and therefore
included; deselecting the checkbox will remove individual nominations from the Priority
Modeling process.

It is important to note that filtering nominations out through the BA Level Nomination
functionality and/or model check box selection process only removes the nominations
for display purposes: all other nominations for the contract and shipper, even though not
displayed, are used in the Priority Model process to calculate the correct priorities and
scheduled quantities.

By using the Customized Grid functionality the „Model‟ check box column can be moved to any
position in the grid. For example, it might be easier to have the „Model‟ check box as the very
first column in the grid.

                                               6
After selecting the specific nominations to be modeled in the Nomination screen, simply select
“Priority Modeling” from the “Related Screens” dropdown.

Please note that only existing activities can be brought into the Priority Modeling screen.
If a new activity is desired it must be created in the Nomination screen and have an
activity code associated with it before it can be modeled.

The Priority Modeling screen will be displayed, which is essentially a scaled down version of the
Nomination screen.

                                                7
You will interact with the screen in the same manner that you interact with the Nomination
screen. Model scenario quantities and rankings will be entered in the requested fields and
generated scheduled quantities and priorities will be previewed in the scheduled fields.

Once the model scenario quantities and rankings have been entered in the requested fields, the
„Run Model‟ Button will be used to generate the scheduled quantities and priorities for the
modeling scenario.

                                               8
When the „Run Model‟ button is pressed a disclaimer message will be displayed. Upon
acceptance the model process will run. This disclaimer message can be hidden for the current
session only by selecting „Don‟t show me any more‟.

After the disclaimer message has been accepted an informational message will be displayed in
the lower left-hand corner stating the modeling run is in progress.

                                              9
After the modeling run is complete, another informational message will be displayed stating that
the modeling run is complete and that the scheduled quantities and priorities have been
generated.

In addition to previewing the scheduled priorities and quantities on the Priority Modeling screen,
a Priority Model Detail screen has also been provided. Simply select the „Priority Detail‟ button.

                                                10
The Priority Model Detail screen shows the exact quantities assigned to each priority for all
nominations on the Priority Modeling screen.

Please note that above examples are for Texas Eastern only. The other pipes will have
their own unique set of priorities such as Receipt, Delivery, and Throughput Priority if
applicable.

Once the scheduled quantities and priorities have been previewed, there are a few options. The
model scenarios can be re-run with different quantities and/or rankings, the model scenarios
can be applied to actual nominations, the model scenarios can be reset back to original
volumes, or the model scenarios can be discarded.

To re-run the model scenario, just update the requested volumes and/or rankings and press the
„Run Model‟ button again. New scheduled quantities and priorities will then be generated.

                                                11
To update actual nominations with the modeling scenario quantities and rankings use the „Apply
Model‟ button. When this button is pushed all changes made on the model scenarios will be
passed back to the Nomination screen and applied to the actual nominations. It is important to
note that you cannot submit any changes to the system on the Priority Modeling screen. The
submit process will still be handled in edit mode on the Nomination screen using the „Submit‟
button.

The „Reset Model‟ button will reset the model scenario nominations back to the original state
retrieved from the Nomination screen.

                                               12
The „Discard Model‟ button will navigate back to the Nomination screen without saving any
modeling scenario changes.

Tool tips are also provided for each button to give a description of the function provided. To turn
on tool tips, under the “Manage Favorites & Preferences” screen select the „Show Tooltips‟
option.

                                                13
Additional Notes

 Timely modeling scenarios look at all requested nominations at the service requester
level for validation to generate priority and scheduled quantities.

 Intraday modeling scenarios look at all requested and scheduled nominations at the
service requester level for validation to generate priority and scheduled quantities.

 Restrictions, multi contract overlap, and operator cuts will not be used in the Priority
      Modeling process.

 The Priority Modeling process validates entitlements at the service requester level
(AMDDO, Section 14.9) and at the contract level for priority and scheduled quantity
      determination.

 Entry timestamps and user rankings are passed back and forth between the Nomination
and Priority Modeling screens for correct entitlement utilization.

 If a customer wants a clean slate to model, a future month or day can be used that has
not been base loaded with nominations.

 If modeling to a LDC point, PDND results can be viewed by hitting the „PDND Results‟
button off the Priority Model Detail screen.
