Note: The following minimum charges apply - Where an extension to a dwelling has a total floor area which exceeds 60m², including means of access and work in connection with
that extension, then the sum of the plan charge and the inspection charge or the building notice charge must not be less than £485 + VAT.
Where an extension or alteration to a dwelling consists of the provision of one or more rooms in a roof space, the sum of the plan charge and the inspection charge or the building notice
charge must not be less than £393 + VAT
For the following - please contact your Local Authority Building Control Section on 01362 656309 who will be pleased to advise you of the charges payable, and discuss the level of service they can provide: -
Where the estimated cost under Schedule 3 exceeds £100,000.00.
Any conversion to a dwelling and/or dwellings exceeding 300m² where the estimated cost under Schedule 3 exceeds £65,000.00.
Alterations in conjunction with an extension under Schedule 2 where the estimate is less than £10,000.00 under Schedule 3.
Where windows and/or door replacement works are undertaken, and the estimate is under £20,000, a fee of £70+ VAT will be charged. Where estimates exceed £20,000 a sum equal to 25% of the
charge detailed in schedule 3 table above will apply.
Where oil tanks or hot water cylinder works, heating appliances, flue lining systems, Hot Water Vessels, minor above ground drainage alterations, are undertaken and the estimate is under £5,000, a
fee of £70+ VAT will be charged. Where estimates exceed £5,000 a sum equal to 50% of the charge detailed in schedule 3 table above will apply
Where Thermal Elements are upgraded and the estimate is under £20,000, a fee of £60+ VAT will be charged. Where estimates exceed £20,000 a sum equal to 25% of the charge detailed in schedule 3
table above will apply
