                        GENERAL INFORMATION

1.   DATE:               Thursday, Friday, Saturday, June 2, 3, 4, 2005.

2.   LOCATION:           R. J. Carrick Memorial Athletic Complex; LaSalle,Ontario.

4.   SCHEDULE:           posted on Championship web site:
                         Please note this year’s schedule changes denoted in bold.

5.   REGISTRATION: at Sandwich Secondary School (rear entrance)
                   7050 Malden Rd.
                   Packages will be available beginning at 1:30 PM on
                   Thursday, June 2.
                   Packages will only be distributed to adults listed on the
                   OFSAA Supervision Form.

6.   FACILITY:           8 lane chevron polyurethane surface; same surface for all
                         jumps, pole vault and javelin.
                         Maximum spike length is 7mm which will be enforced at
                         call area See web site for pictures of competition areas

7.   FEES:               a) Entry Fees are $8.00 per individual event and $25.00 per
                         relay. Regional Conveners must make cheques payable to:
                         “OFSAA Track and Field 2005”

                         b) OFSAA Participant Fees are $2.00 per student -athlete
                          (including alternates). Regional Conveners must make a
                         separate cheque payable to: “OFSAA

8.   SCORING:            a) The following point system will be used to determine
                         team champions: 1st = 10 pts; 2nd = 8 pts; 3rd = 6 pts; 4th
                         = 5 points; 5th = 4 pts; 6th = 3 pts; 7th = 2 pts; 8th = 1 pt.
                         b) Points earned by individuals in open events shall be
                         awarded to the school in the age category to which the
                         individual belongs

                         c) Open Relay Team points shall be awarded to the school
                         in the Senior Division

9.    AWARDS:            a) Individual: OFSAA Medals shall be presented to the first
                         3 place finishers in each event. OFSAA Ribbons shall be
                         presented to the fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers in
                         each event

                         b) Team: The Overall Boys and Girls Team Champions
                         will be presented with OFSAA Championship banners.
                         Note that team points will not be allocated in disabled

10.   RESULTS:           will be available on the Championship website one half
                         hour after the completion of each event.

11.   DISQUALIFICATIONS:         The Referee will inform the teacher coach
                                 immediately of any disqualification involving his or
                                 her athlete(s) and the rule which was violated.

12.   DISPUTES:          a) If a result is being disputed, the first step is to make a
                         verbal appeal to the Track or Field Referee .

                         b) If the ruling of the Referee is being disputed a written
                         protest must be submitted along with a $50.00 fee to the
                         Meet Director who will submit the protest to the Jury of
                         Appeal. This must be submitted within 30 minutes of the
                         post time on the result. The decision of the 3 member Jury
                         of Appeal is final.

13.   DIRECTIONS:        Maps of the Windsor/LaSalle area and directions to the
                         facility are posted on the Championship website.

14.   ACCOMMODATIONS:A comprehensive list of area hotels are listed on the
                  Championship website. When booking you must mention
                  “OFSAA Track and Field” to receive the posted room
15.   CHECK IN:    Athletes must check in to the “Athlete Control Centre”
                   (Check in area) at the prescribed times. Once checked in,
                   the athletes will not be allowed to leave this area until they
                   are led to the competition area.

16.   BEHAVIOUR:   The OFSAA Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced for
                   all competitors, coaches and spectators.

17.   PARKING:     Bus parking will be off-site. Buses can only drop off and
                   pick up at designated areas.
                   General admission parking will be $3.00 per entry per

18.   ADMISSION:   Free for athletes and designated coaches of school teams.
                   General Admission will be at the following rates:
                   Daily pass:     $5.00     Seniors & Students: $3.00 per day
                   3 Day pass: $12.00 Children under 10 FREE
