Clean-up. We need everyone’s help for this
**** Please note that the Webelos will be working on their outdoorsman pin and will be with the
Scouts of Troop 74 most of the day. They will not be following the above itinerary until about 6pm.
GOING GREEN! Bring your own re-usable dinnerware, utensils & cups.
Also need a canteen or water bottle to carry throughout the day.
We’re trying to reduce waste & cost – and can earn the BSA Green Award!
What to Bring! Tent (there are 2 man tents with cots available for use already standing at the campsite),
sleeping gear, sack lunch for Saturday, extra snacks and drinks, breakfast Sunday.
Fishing Tackle and Bait, bug repellent, sunscreen, flashlights and/or lanterns, folding chairs.
You may also want to bring a small backpack or something to make it easy to carry water, etc…
Wear “play” clothes that you can mess up. You might want wear your pack t-shirt on Sunday!
EVERYONE Wear tennis shoes (no flip-flops/Crocs). Webelos will be doing a 3 mile hike.
Please bring board games and such just in case of rain.
If you have an ez-up, folding table, or a 5 gallon water cooler please let us know.
We will be closely following our pack rules for this event. It is important for everyone’s safety.
We need the most help with keeping the kids from running around after dark.
At nightfall the kids will need to be around the campfire or in their tent.
Also we cannot have the scouts around the lake unless it is the designated time to be there.
Saturday: Full day of events. Arrive when you can, we realize several scouts have started playing sports
at this time. Please check in at the campsite (Chigger Ridge) when you arrive. Most of the time will be
planned. Bring a lunch and snacks. Dinner will be provided by the pack. We will be having hot dogs,
chips and roasting marshmallows.
Sunday: Please bring breakfast for your family. We will also conduct a Flag Ceremony and Scout’s Own
service Sunday morning. We will need everyone’s help with clean up before they leave camp.
From Gardendale Directions to Camp: Take I-65 south to I-59 then to I-20(towards Atlanta)
From Interstate 20 E, take exit 191 (431 South) and head south 6.6 miles. Turn Right onto County Road 11 and travel 1.3
miles to a stop sign at County Road 24. Go straight across Highway 24 and the main gate will be on your left ½ mile down.
We will have signs once you get inside the campground showing you where out campsite is. Our campsite is called Chigger
Ridge. You will need to unload your vehicle then move it to the parking area near the front gate.
