Purpose and Description of the Team
The North Somerset Childcare, Learning and Play Team implements and supports the delivery of the National Childcare Strategy, the
Early Years Foundation Stage, Children’s Centre Development, the Extended Schools agenda and Play. We provide a wide range of
childcare and extended school support services in North Somerset which includes the following: Business Support, Childcare
Development (including childminders), Children & Young People’s Information Service, Children’s Centres, Children with Learning
Difficulties and Disabilities, Early Years, Extended Schools, Nursery Education Funding, Play, Training and Recruitment and
Commissioning.
