             Candida, Yeast Infections and Infertility

By Sophia David, author of the Organic Fertility Bible 12-Step Fertility Program

Candidiasis or Candida, is caused by a fungus called Candida Albicans that is most well known
for causing yeast infections in women. It also causes thrush and is extremely contagious in
humans. It can be passed from partner or people by kissing, and touch.

Candida Albicans actually lives in the body, and only causes problem in the human body when
there is an imbalance. This imbalance is usually caused by an overload of sugar to the system
and environmental toxins.

Systemic Candida, of the whole body, can cause extremely serious health problems in both
women and men including infertility.

Symptoms of Candida are hard to pinpoint as they can be extremely varied. If you have had
antibiotics in the past, thrush, a vaginal yeast infection, a diet that is rich in sugar, processed
foods and low in fiber, then you most likely have Candida and need to deal with it right away.

Men who have Candida may exhibit symptoms such as a burning when urinating, an itchy penis,
brown patches on the penis, or no symptoms at all.

How To Deal With Candida and Yeast Infections For Fertility

In order to completely eliminate Candida from the body, a full body detoxification must take
place. You should be drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fiber to flush out all the toxins
from your body. Take one tablespoon of psyllium husks a day with three glasses of large water.
You can buy pure psyllium husks at any health food store.

You should be having at least 2-3 bowel movements a day. If you aren't, then you aren't eating
enough fiber and/or your system is clogged.

Sugar and foods that easily convert into sugar such as alcohol, and white breads are to be
completely avoided. You should still continue to eat fruits, but things such as pop, juice, cake,
candy, cookies, muffins etc. should be avoided entirely.

Never take antibiotics to combat Candida or yeast infections. In the long run antibiotics harm the
intestinal flora of the digestive system and worsen the problem which is why many women get
reoccurring yeast infections once they start taking antibiotics.

Drink lots of pure cranberry juice (with no sugar) and take a probiotic supplement. The goal is to
re-balance the intestinal flora of the body.

Once your body starts healing itself from the inside out, fertility won't be too hard behind. Good
