Making a Christmas bow does not have to be hard. Bows can be made out of any material such
as ribbon, fabric or lace. Bows come in three basic types – single bows, double bows, and fluffy
double loop bows.

Single bow

1) Cut two pieces of material 1.5 inches wide. One should be 13 inches long while the other one
18 inches.

2) Fold the short strip in half and then scrunch the middle area of the material. Hold it with one
hand and make loops with the cut ends of the strips using the other hand.

3) When you are making the loops, make sure to overlap them by .5 to 1 inch.

4) Once the bow is positioned the way you like, tie a piece of wire to secure the bow.

5) Take the longer 18 inch strip now and place the middle of it between the center of the loop
already made on step 4.

6) Wrap this piece around the back of the bow, and tie the ends together in a knot. Make sure to
pull tightly to hold it together.

                                                                                               1/3

7) Cut a V-shape at the end tails of the bow as a finishing touch.

Double bow

Making a double bow is similar to making a single bow except that you are going to need three
strips of material.

1) Cut three pieces of material 1.5 inches wide. The lengths of the strips should be 11 inches,
13 inches, and 18 inches respectively.

2) Using the 11 inch strip you cut in step 1, fold the material in half and scrunch the middle area.
Use one hand to hold the scrunched area, and another hand to loop the ends of the strip.

3) When you are making the loops, make sure to overlap them by .5 to 1 inch.

4) Tie a piece of wire to hold the loop in place.

5) Repeat steps 2 through 4 with the 13 inch loop.

                                                                                               2/3

6) After you made the two loops place the smaller loop over the larger loop and hold them
together with your finger.

7) Now take the longest 18 inch material and tie it around both loops. Knot it at the back and
secure them in place.

8) Cut a V-shape at the end tails.

                                                                                            3/3
