This year’s magical production of SLEEPING BEAUTY promises to be great fun for all concerned.
Successful candidates will be working with professional choreographer Richard Peakman and the older

London. We are looking for talented girls and boys, aged from 10 – 19 years, with EXTREMELY
STRONG DANCE ABILITY and excellent stage presence to join our professional company. Singing
and drama experience is desirable but not essential.

Rehearsals commence on Saturday 14 November 2009 and will be held at weekends and after school
until the week the production opens. We require two teams of eight children/ young people to make up
the Juvenile Chorus. Each team will perform twice on alternate days from 11 December 2009 until
either 10 January 2010 (25/ 26 performances over 13 days for each team). All successful candidates
must be available for all rehearsals and performances from 14 November until 10 January at the time
of the audition, unless discussed and agreed with the producer before the audition commences (there
will be 15 minutes for questions and answers with parents/ producer at 10.00am on the day of the
audition). Confirmed detailed rehearsal/ performance dates for each team will announced after the
audition.

Successful candidates who are either under 16 years old or still in their GCSE year at school at the
time of the production, will need permission from school for absence during the run of Sleeping Beauty.
This is kept to a minimum, but parents should speak to Head Teachers before the audition to ensure
that they are willing to allow absence from school should their child be successful.

Each member of the Juvenile Chorus will receive a nominal sum of £40.00 towards expenses during
the run of the pantomime. Each member of the chorus will also receive two tickets to see the
pantomime on a date to be confirmed.

CHAPERONES

This year we are asking parents of all children under 16 years taking part in the pantomime to share
equally the task of chaperoning the children. If parents are not already Licensed Chaperones with the
local authority they will need to register as soon as possible after the audition. Chaperones are needed
for both rehearsals and performances and are an integral part of the company. Each Chaperone will
receive four complimentary tickets for the production. It should be fun!
