Director of Inland Marine Product Development and Programs.
 Managed 3 direct reports and $160M in Inland Marine volume. Responsible for vetting Inland Marine program
 business to assure that corporate guidelines were followed and for product development for Inland Marine Line
 of business.
        Produced 3 new programs in the course of one year that resulted in approximately $1.5M annual
         premium with projected combined loss ratio less than 100%.
        Developed 4 new products in the course of one year resulting in additional premium of approximately
         $1.2M annually with projected loss ratio less than 100% combined.

  Staff position with overall Inland Marine book management for 3 assigned subsidiary companies with total
  Inland Marine Volume approximately $130M. Indirect responsibility for P&L. Responsible for referral
  underwriting, product development, authoring underwriting guidelines, training, development of policy forms,
  conducting quality audits.
         Recognized Subject Matter Expert selected to represent Inland Marine on implementation of new
          automated policy issuance and underwriting system to be used across all Liberty Agency Market
          companies, reducing cost and increase service standards.

  Staff position managing four direct reports and indirect P&L responsibility. Total Inland Marine Volume $50M.
       Reduced combined loss ratio from 105% to 67% in a 3 year period while growing at a cumulate 37%
          rate by reunderwriting the book and establishing a new rate and pricing scheme.
         Reduced expense ratio from 40% to 33.5% during that same period as a result of helping to develop a
          multivariate automated underwriting and policy issuance system.
         Negotiated Risk Purchasing Group program for Malls which produced $1.6M annual premium with
          consistent loss ratios in the low 20% area.

          Responsible for vetting new property and casualty programs, designing underwriting guidelines and
          doing quality audits. Established underwriting department.
           Served as the business consultant for new automated policy issuance system which reduced
              underwriting expenses by 10% once fully implemented.
           Developed state by state litigation profile used to vet programs prior to acceptance, which
              resulted in reduced review time for each new program.

                 Developed initial Artisan Package in use by Maryland Casualty which produced first year
                    premium of $1M and less than 100% combined loss ratio.
                 Developed and presented COP training for branches, which helped to produce additional
                    property premium of approximately $2M.
                 Contracting segment showed consistent growth and better than industry results.

Southeast Regional Underwriting Manager, Atlanta, GA                                          1986-1989
      Staff position with 5 direct reports and dotted line responsibility for five branches. Direct P&L
      responsibility. Total volume $140 million. Responsible for Commercial Lines underwriting for 7 state area.
      Duties included referral underwriting unit and quality audit procedure.
           Established new underwriting guidelines for Workers Comp line and instituted reunderwriting
              procedure reducing the combined loss ratio from 113% to 99.7% in a 2 year period.
           Investigated premium dividend procedures to locate error, thus saving company approximately
              $750,000.
           Established centralized large account underwriting unit, increasing large account premium by
              $3.5M in a 15 month period.
