9.45 1. (a) Handicap for any yacht from River Ant (under 1250) - Ant Challenge Cup
              For owners who live on the Ant, or whose entered boats winter there, and are
              steered by the owner or members of his/her family. The race will be sailed
              using PY handicaps and the Committee will allocate a suitable handicap
              to any cruiser entries.

                                       PRIZEGIVING
All prize winners are asked to be present at the Committee Boat promptly after the last race,
             when Mrs. P. Masters has very kindly agreed to present the prizes.
    The committee made donations to The Nancy Oldfield Trust, The Museum of the
Broads, the Norfolk Punt Club and the Norfolk Wherry Trust from the proceeds of last
                                      year’s Regatta
GENERAL
N.B. Current NPC rules are on display on the club notice board. Please note the starting and finishing procedures in
particular. When not racing, please keep clear of line and course.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The NPC has revised their sailing instructions and they are available in the entry boat. They will be used on all race days.
Please note that that ALL competitors may be required to wear personal buoyancy if conditions dictate at the OODs discretion

IN ADDITION, on the Monday, the following will apply:

     1.     Race number flags will be hoisted at the ten minute gun in place of class flags and remain hoisted until the last start
            in that series.

     2.     If any boat is over the start line, the Blue Peter (not a class flag) will remain dipped for up to two minutes.

     3.     No competing boat may, AT ANY TIME, pass between the committee boat or barge and the limit buoy carrying a red
            burgee. Failure to comply with this will result in summary disqualification".

     4.     When, in the opinion of the Race Officer, sufficient boats have been timed in to decide a race result, any further
            timings or placing of finishing boats will be recorded at his discretion.

     5.     Protests in respect of the final series of races must be notified to the Racing Secretary within ten minutes of the last
            finishing boat in the race

     6.     Any protest will be heard at a time fixed by the Racing Secretary and at his discretion. The Committee adopts, and
            consequently any protest will be conducted in accordance with, the current RYA procedure.

MONDAY RECALL INSTRUCTIONS
In the event of a boat being over the line at the start, two guns will be fired. No numbers need be called. Three guns
will indicate a general recall. After a general recall, the restart will be 5 minutes after the final race in a series. If the
general recall is for the final race in a series, the next gun will be the 5 minute signal for the restart and this will be
preceded by a warning bell one minute before it sounds . All restarts will be sailed under Rule 30.3 and a black flag
will be flown It will be broken at the five minute gun. This will signify that any competitor over the line at the starting
signal will be automatically disqualified from the race.


PLEASE NOTE
All prize winners are requested to have cups suitably engraved and returned to the Hon. Secretaries when requested, in
advance of the next Regatta. In each race six boats to start or no 2nd prize, nine or no 3rd, twelve or no 4th. The committee
reserves the right to make any alterations they think fit or to refuse entry. Their decision is final subject to appeal to RYA.


It is sincerely hoped that all races will be undertaken in the spirit of good sportsmanship and that all competitors will
primarily enjoy their sailing. Both NPC and BBOR committee have adopted the RYA Charter. The Committees earnestly
impress on all attending the Regatta not to do any damage to the reeds or to disturb the wild fowl and they hope for the
assistance of the public in seeing that all the rights and property of the owners of the Broad are fully respected.
