Tips for Using This Template
This page provides tips for preparing your presentation for ARS.
The time allowed for each presentation is 50 minutes with an additional 5 minutes designated for questions. For most presenters, this works out to about 35 to 65 slides. Please do not include more slides than you will have time to cover in the 50 minute session. Minor proofreading and formatting modifications are made directly to the PPT file by the ARS Review Board during the review. Please make sure that the draft you submit to ARS is complete. At the Symposium, all presentations will be loaded onto laptops provided by ARS. Please plan to present from the FINAL version of the presentation that has been submitted to ARS. Try to keep the font sizes at 20pt or, preferably, higher. This makes it easier to read the materials on the screen during the presentation and in the Proceedings booklet, which is printed 4 slides per page. Try to avoid using red text and other colors that do not display well on the blue background. In most cases, equations, plots and diagrams that were originally prepared with black text/lines on a white background will look (and print) best if the white background is maintained (instead of converting black lines to white, etc.). When importing slides from another presentation, it may be necessary to copy/paste these objects individually instead of accepting the conversion performed automatically by PowerPoint. To add your name and session # to the background, select Master then Slide Master from the View menu and edit the master pages accordingly. For questions, contact InfoAsia@ARSymposium.org.
