AFFECTED PRODUCTS or SERVICES: RealSecure Desktop 3.6 DESCRIPTION: Effective immediately, the 3.6 version of RealSecure Desktop is no longer for sale (EOS-End of Sale) and security content updates via X-Press Update™ (XPU) product enhancements will discontinue on January 14, 2004. Technical support will continue until the next major version of RealSecure Desktop is released. SUMMARY: Internet Security Systems is providing customers with advanced notice of End-of-XPU (EOX) for RealSecure Desktop 3.6. Security content updates via X-Press Update™ (XPU) product enhancements will discontinue on January 14, 2004. RealSecure Desktop 3.6 customers with current maintenance are encouraged to upgrade to RealSecure® Desktop 7.0. MIGRATION PATH: ISS recommends that customers upgrade to the RealSecure Desktop 7.0 software version as soon as possible to take maximum advantage of new features and functionality. Customers with current maintenance for RealSecure Desktop can upgrade to RealSecure Desktop 7.0 using SiteProtector™ management. As part of migration, ISS recommends customers using ICEcap Manager migrate to SiteProtector. Advantage of Migrating: Customers that migrate to RealSecure Desktop 7.0 can take advantage of the new features offered in the current release, such as: VPN Integration — ensures compliance with corporate policy before allowing clients into the VPN. Integrates with Check Point VPN-1/Firewall-1, Cisco VPN 300 Series Concentrator and Nortel Connectivity Series. Anti-virus Compliance — prohibits remote users from accessing the network if the anti-virus software is not current. Supports the latest versions of popular anti-virus software. Dynamic Policy Enforcement — enables centralized enforcement of specific policies, based on the client’s location — inside or outside the corporate network, or connected through the VPN. X-PRESS UPDATE PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS: Effective immediately, bug fixes will only be made available for the current version of the product (RealSecure Desktop 7.0). ISS will not make bug fixes or enhancements to older versions. RealSecure Desktop version 3.6 will continue to receive security content updates for critical issues until January 14, 2004. TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Technical support for RealSecure Desktop 3.6 will continue until the next major release of RealSecure Desktop.
