Motivation: To Dissolve Boundaries
As globalisation increases, knowledge of our environments decreases
On the Internet, we have tools to help the uninformed explore information
mSpace mobile was created to simplify the uninformed exploration of the real world
Motivation: to dissolve boundaries
We already had the mSpace framework release that let us explore complex information:
We added location sensitivity and mobility
Challenges
UI challenges
Limitations in .NET Compact Framework 1.0
Using GapiDraw, and a rewrite of controls library
[Animation Pre-hack]
[Animation Post-hack]
.NET Compact Framework 2.0 may solve this
Challenges
.NET Compact Framework 1.0 does not support sessions between mobile devices
Query formation: Data access to 3Store using a minimal number of queries to facilitate performance
Generalisability
mSpace mobile is based upon ideas found in the existing mSpace framework
The web services are designed to be reused for a wide variety of purposes
Many different applications can be created that use them in different ways Data within the web services does not have to be changed to facilitate this
Generalisability
Data can be sourced from any RDF collection, such as:
