University Apartments: Situated on forty-two acres along Clairmont Road in Decatur, University Apartments is less than one mile from the
Emory campus. Facilities currently include a central, eighteen-story highrise, known as the Tower. The University will be building 1100 new
bed spaces in garden style apartments in the same complex. These new facilities have a tentative opening date of July 2002 University
Apartments provides students with the opportunity to live among their colleagues and interact in an academic environment, without giving up
the privacy and autonomy that an apartment affords. Our residents consitute a stimulating international community where all members can find
peers and support. And, as you would expect, our location offers easy access to the campus, including a shuttle service that runs seven days a
week. University Apartments features the amenities one would expect from any apartment complex, such as comfortable apartments, large
laundry facilities, access to public transportation, on-site staff, and in-house maintenance. Additionally, Campus Life staff members at
University Apartments provide services, activities, and programs geared specifically toward students' lifestyles. Other amenities include:
- telephone service established and functioning when you arrive; local service is included in the rent
- no security/damage deposit required
- free parking with shuttle service to campus which runs seven days a week (limited hours during holidays and breaks)
- an economical roommate plan which offers each student a separate lease and eliminates the worry of finding a roommate
- high speed ethernet data link and cable television (with movies) provided in each apartment
- programs which address cultural diversity, social and informational needs, and help to reduce the stresses of student and
family life
- on-site computer lab, equipped with printers a variety of desktop computers
