Jockey Lee Smith tendered a medical clearance declaring him fit to fulfil his riding engagements today.

RACE 1 – CADBURY 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – SET WEIGHTS – 1100 METRES

King’s Verdict and Elfin Cash were slow into stride.

Shortly after the start, Second Dozen shifted wider on the track bumping with Faithful Gee Gee which in
turn bumped with Dementor.

Titus Flavius raced green approaching the 600 metres and as a result hampered Kiger which made
contact with the running rail.

Kiger was held up upon entering the home straight and was then inclined to lay in in the home straight.

Gathering Gold raced three wide throughout.

Jockey D Pires (King’s Verdict) reported that his mount laid out for the entire event.

RACE 2 – TOTE TASMANIA 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE – SET WEIGHTS – 1400 METRES

Trainer John Blacker tendered a veterinary certificate declaring La Ha fit to race today.

La Ha was incorrectly shown as wearing blinkers when, in fact Trainer John Blacker had submitted a gear
change for the mare to wear winkers for the first time. A public announcement to this effect was made
prior to the start of the race.

Samsonic was unable to muster early speed.

Ellopet was inclined to over-race in the early stages of the event.

Near the 1100 metres, Effellecee had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of Given Sunday and raced
ungenerously for a short period thereafter.
Near the 200 metres, Makes Cents shifted ground outwards marginally, hampering Effellecee.

                     Stewards upgraded the track rating to DEAD (4) at 12.59 pm


RACE 3 – DERWENT PARK DEVELOPMENTS MAIDEN / CLASS 1 – 1600 METRES

Monalusive attempted to sit down prior to the start before being removed from its barrier stall and
undergoing a veterinary inspection the mare was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field. The
Club’s veterinary surgeon reported that Monalusive was in season. Trainer John Blacker was advised that
Monalusive must barrier trial prior to racing due to the mares barrier manners.

As a result of this, the race was delayed five minutes.

Spinski was also removed from the barriers prior to the start and underwent a pre-race veterinary
inspection and was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field.

Monalusive was slow into stride, missing the start by four lengths.

Neil’s Gold and Spinski were both slow into stride.

Tismore was inclined to over race in the early stages.

Jockey B McCoull (Tismore) reported that his horse wanted to lay out for the entire home straight.

RACE 4 – KEVIN SHARKIE CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

Royal Oncology was held up between the 500 metres and the 200 metres before obtaining a clear run.

Jockey J Hamer (Pirate ‘n’ Poet) was found guilty of a charge under AR 137(a) careless riding in that near
the 100 metres, he allowed his mount to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear of March Forth (M
Rodd) resulting in that gelding being checked and losing its position. Stewards noted that Pirate ‘n’ Poet
was inclined to lay in prior to and during the incident. Jockey Hamer’s licence to ride in races was
suspended for a period of two race meetings to begin at midnight tonight and to expire at midnight on
21 February 2010.

RACE 5 – THE PERFORMANCE SUBARI CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1100 METRES

Don Equador dipped upon jumping.

Jetstyle Express failed to muster early speed.

Gently Bentley was held up between the 500 metres and the 300 metres behind Bayou Senja.

The Hornet was held up rounding the home turn behind Round Saturn before shifting wider on the track
approaching the 200 metres to obtain a clear run.

RACE 6 – WREST POINT STRUTT STAKES 3YO FILLIES – Set Weights – No Claims – LISTED –
2100 METRES

Childhood Dreams reared upon jumping.

Seripak jumped outwards at the start, hampering Childhood Dreams

Money Angel was hampered at the start between Our Lady of Light and Tio Rossa.

Cool Illusion was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages.

RACE 7 – TATTERSALL’S THOMAS LYONS STAKES – LISTED – Weight for Age – No Claims –
1400 METRES

Relentless Pursuit jumped away awkwardly and as a result Moulin Rouge was steadied off heels and lost
ground when racing tight between Relentless Pursuit and Ladeto.

Life to the Full and Twenty Grand were inclined to over-race mid-race.

Approaching the 400 metres, Mystery Quest was disappointed for a run between Relentless Pursuit and
Loaded Owners which was inclined to lay out.
Jockey M Rodd (Mystery Quest) was reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding in that approaching
the 200 metres, he shifted ground inwards when insufficiently clear making contact with Ladeto which had
been carried out by Black Glennoel.

Shortly thereafter, Jockey L Smith (Heartbreak Kid) was reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding in
that he allowed his mount to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear of Mystery Quest which had
obtained a tight run to its inside resulting in Mystery Quest being carried in on to Ladeto who in turn shifted
ground inwards in on to Black Glennoel which was checked and made contact with Moulin Rouge which
was also inconvenienced. In not taking more severe action, Stewards took into account the movement of
Mystery Quest and Black Glennoel prior to this incident.

Jockey B McCoull (Loaded Owners) reported that his mount was inclined to over-race and lay out
throughout the event.

RACE 8 – AAMI HOBART CUP – No Claims – GROUP 3 – 2200 METRES

Stewards granted permission for Jockey M Rodd to ride Dream Pedlar ½ kilogram over its allotted weight.

Stewards granted permission for Jockey D Gauci to ride Beven Heights ½ kilogram over its allotted
weight.

Bangerang Quikpic underwent a veterinary inspection after kicking the running rail on the outside of the
track enroute to the barriers. The gelding was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field.

Shortly after the start, Maybe French was hampered when Zavite (NZ) shifted ground inwards.

Syndrome (NZ) was inclined to over-race in the early stages.

The Tiger raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Approaching the 600 metres Maybe French was carried outwards by Zavite (NZ) and as a result Mr Isaac
was inconvenienced.

Stewards adjourned an inquiry into an incident approaching the 500 metres in which Assent lost its
position resulting in Ballack (NZ) and De Fine Lago being inconvenienced at the rear of the field.

Near the 400 metres, De Fine Lago was held up behind Mr Isaac before shifting ground outwards,
bumping with Rathsallagh (NZ).

Rathsallagh (NZ) tired upon entering the home straight. Jockey G Boss stated that after missing the start,
and racing against its normal racing pattern, the mare failed to race to expectations. A post-race
veterinary inspection of Rathsallagh (NZ) revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Robert
Smerdon was advised that he must tender a veterinary certificate of soundness before Rathsallagh’s next
race start.

Bangerang Quikpic tired upon entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to
reveal any abnormalities.

Larry’s Never Late (NZ) laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Jockey C Williams (Bangerang Quikpic) stated that he had pressure throughout the event and as such the
gelding failed to run on.

Jockey D Dunn (De Fine Lago) reported that the gelding lost its off-side fore plate during the race.

A post-race veterinary inspection of Ista Kareem (NZ) revealed the gelding to have “the thumps” and with
tendonitis in the near fore-leg. Trainer Colin Little was advised that he must tender a veterinary certificate
of soundness before Ista Kareem (NZ) next race start.

RACE 9 – THORPE LOGISTICS CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1100 METRES

Stewards granted permission for Jockey D Pires to ride Royal Destination one kilogram over its allotted
weight.

Approaching the 200 metres, Graceomalli shifted out marginally and bumped with Kalangadoo.
RACE 10 – LES LEES CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES
Stewards granted permission for Jockey J Hamer to ride Devils Quest ½ kilogram over its allotted weight.
At the start, Centenary Diamond jumped inwards bumping with Ithaca Canyon.
Approaching the 400 metres, Devils Quest had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of She’s Good as
Gold and as a result rolled in and brushed with Ithaca Canyon.
Upon entering the home straight, Ithaca Canyon had to be steadied off the heels of Helsinski Jones before
shifting in to obtain a clear run.
GENERAL

Trainer Barry Campbell was reprimanded under AR 175 (q) for misconduct in that he acted in an improper
manner in the saddling area.
