					              Show Jumping Specific Rules and Regulations
1.    Show/Hacking jackets must be worn in all jumping events unless specified
      by the judge.
2.    Studs, spurs and whips will be allowed in the main jumping ring but
      excessive use may lead to disqualification (please also refer to General Rule
      7).
3.    Practice jumps must be jumped with the red flag on the RIGHT HAND
      SIDE.
4.    The height of the practice jump must not exceed the height of the fences in
      the current show jumping class.
5.    All entries for the jumping classes are to be made BEFORE the start of the
      class, exception being where a late entry fee of £1 is paid. Late entries are
      accepted at the discretion of the Secretary.
6.    Any competitor who takes a fall will be eliminated and must leave the ring
      dismounted.
7.    If you are eliminated (other than for a fall) you are allowed to jump a
      SINGLE fence before leaving the ring.
8.    The height of the main jumping ring will not exceed stated height on
      programme.
9.    The course builders have the final say in height due to weather restrictions on
      the day.
10.   Any horse/rider combination winning or being placed 2nd in the 2’6”
      jumping class or higher more than twice (4 competitors or more), will not be
      eligible to take part competitively in the 2’ class - class 2.
11.   Any horse/rider combination winning or being placed 2nd in the 2’9”
      jumping class or higher more than twice (4 competitors or more), will not be
      eligible to take part competitively in the 2’3” class - class 3.
12.   Any BSJA registered horse/pony may not jump competitively in classes 2, 3,
      4 or 5.
