Seniors – This is a scholarship newsletter for the 2008-2009 school-year. This letter is updated
frequently. Please pay attention to deadlines. You may pick up applications, which are filed by
number, in the counseling office. Check in the office frequently. Scholarships arrive on a daily
basis. See Mrs. Buhro if you have questions.

ROTC Scholarships - Reserve Officer Training: Contact local military recruiters or university.
Scholarships involve a military commitment after graduation.

Gates Millennium Scholarship
   • Must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander
      American or Hispanic American
   • Must be a citizen of the United States
   • 3.3 GPA minimum
   • Must attend an accredited college or university full time in the Fall 2009
   • Must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community
      service, extracurricular or other activities
   • Must meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (file the FAFSA form)

4. Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
   • Applications judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need

5. MetroPCS Community Scholars Program
   • Main criteria is exceptional involvement in volunteerism and community service in
      addition to academics and other criteria

6. Michigan Education Association Scholarship
   • Criteria for selection: academic achievement, school/community service,
      extracurricular activities
   • All other criteria being equal, first consideration will be given to children of MEA
      members and students from lower income households.
   • Personal resume written by the applicant & letters of recommendation required
   • Counselor’s signature needed on completed application

7. NALS of Michigan Scholarship Fund
   • Pre-law student
   • Minimum 3.0 GPA

8. Rotary Club of Belleville Scholarship
   • Application
   • Must be involved in extra-curricular activities

   • Nine scholarships offered to students attending U of M Ann Arbor
   • 31 ACT or 1400 SAT minimum or top 1% of graduating class
