Yeovil is an attractive town set on the Somerset/Dorset border.
It is surrounded by lovely, gentle countryside. There are good places to walk
and explore with really nice country pubs. The town is central in the south
west and all of the following are about an hour away by car– Bath, Bristol,
Exeter, Bournemouth and Salisbury. The closest seaside is 35 mins drive
and the sandy ones, again, about an hour away. The coastline is fantastic and
dramatic, a great area to holiday.
This semi-detached house was built in the 1920‟s, has off road parking for 2
cars and is just 5 minutes walk to the nearest shop & eating places. The house
has 2 bathrooms, separate dining room, kitchen & lounge. On one level there
are 2 steps down to the outside, but flat access is at the back if required.
The good-sized garden is quiet and not overlooked. It is 90m x 50m laid to
lawn with some deep herbaceous borders. A ¼ of the garden is a vegetable
plot and they also keep bees…which are not intrusive and house-swappers
will not be required to do anything with them! Children will be pleased to find
toys & bikes in the shed as well as a large trampoline, erected from Easter to
October, and a swing. They also have a basketball net, swingball, garden
furniture & a barbecue.
Yeovil Community Church is a thriving, free evangelical church with a morning
attendance of around 400 people! It is very outward-looking, largely involved in
the community with youth teams in schools, community food bank, church
charity shop, social action fund & agency referrals for grants & equipment.
About 120 families attend the church each week and there are large toddler
groups as well as a pre-school on site. There is also a large youth ministry.

This semi-detached house, built one hundred years ago, has a wonderful location. It
is situated in a small village, called BISHOPSWOOD, in the Blackdown Hills of
Somerset, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is a haven
                             for walkers.

                                 The village has a popular pub/restaurant, an active
                                 village hall, a play area with swings etc for children and a
                                 Chapel. The nearest shops/post offices are 3 miles away
                                 in two neighbouring villages. Their nearest towns are
                                 Chard (6 miles away) and Taunton (10 miles away)
                                 Exeter airport is 30 mins drive and Bristol airport, one
                                 hour.




They have a large front garden and an even larger back garden, which opens up into
a paddock area. There is garden furniture and a barbecue for house swappers to use
and enjoy eating al fresco on a warm summer‟s evening!
Bishopswood Chapel is an independent Evangelical church with Brethren origins.
Though small in number it is known for its warm welcome and variety of services
which suit everyone. It is a community-orientated church, with activities and meetings
for all age groups on Sunday and during the week. It hosts three 3 evangelistic events
each year, usually held in the village hall, as well as an annual “Picnic in the
Paddock”, attracting 90-100 people.

This one hundred year old detached cottage is beautifully located in the village of
Monkton Combe, set in a valley with a river flowing through, and a canal.
It is on the edge of the city of Bath, world renowned for its Spa, Pump House, Roman
Baths, and stunning architecture.
 It is one mile from the nearest shop, eating place and the church mentioned later.

The garden comprises a small area at the back with table, chairs and a small
barbecue, and then a larger piece of lawn across the drive. There is a baby swing
and slide.

Holy Trinity Church is a thriving mission led evangelical Anglican Church, which
serves its community well. There are approximately 400 people for morning services
and 60 in the evening. There are „too many to mention‟ midweek events. All info is

This 1970‟s detached house is located in the historic market town of Frome in
Somerset. It is a lovely town to enjoy, with the River Frome running through the
centre, many individual shops and eating places and an emphasis on the creative
arts. It is within easy distance of Bath.

The house itself is ¼ mile from all the town‟s amenities and a little more to the church
mentioned later. There is parking space in the driveway, an open fire in the sitting
room and private enclosed garden to the front and rear…making it child and dog
proof! Some areas of the garden are terraced with a 4 foot drop, as well as lawn and
a gravel area. Garden furniture is available and children will be pleased to find trees
to climb and a tyre swing. Keen gardeners are welcome to do a bit of weeding!

 Holy Trinity, Frome, is an Anglican church with a traditional 9am service and
contemporary 10-45 family service. It is a friendly church and fairly relaxed in style.
There are other, more high Anglican churches in Frome as well as Methodist, Baptist
and a Free Church.

Wellington is a small town situated close to the Blackdown Hills in the lovely
Somerset countryside. The town itself has a large variety of small and individual
shops & eating places, including 2 supermarkets.
This is a great centre for exploring both Somerset and Devon, having numerous
attractions within 40 miles.

This new semi-detached house is located on the outskirts of Wellington, but within
walking distance, one mile, of the town centre. It is very close to the lovely open
countryside. The garden is large and fully enclosed. House swappers are welcome to
pick and eat anything that is ready from the vegetable plot! Children will be delighted
to discover a slide and swing, sandpit, scooters, bikes, other ride-on toys, as well as
games & footballs.

Wellington Baptist Church offers a good mix of traditional and contemporary style of
worship to which about 80+ people attend in the morning with a more intimate
gathering most Sunday evenings. There are Sunday and midweek activities for all
age groups.

There is an occupied and self-contained „granny flat‟, and the lady would really
appreciate a visit while house swappers are staying.
The enclosed garden is partly laid to lawn with flower beds and shrubs. There is also
a pond, vegetable garden, from which vegetables may be used, greenhouse and
patio with garden furniture. Some watering of pots may need to be done.
Canon Street Family Church, Taunton, enjoys a fairly contemporary style of worship
to which about 60 people attend on the Sunday morning and a more intimate 15-30 in
the evening. There are midweek prayer groups.

nearby.
This large detached house, built in the early 1980‟s, is located on a well designed
modern estate five minutes walk from the village centre. Eating places, shops and the
church mentioned later are all in the village.
The garden is a good size, 60‟ by 30‟. It is enclosed, and laid to lawn with shrubs and

Cheddar Valley Community Church is a charismatic free church with an average of
100 people attending the morning congregation. Style of worship tends towards
contemporary and there are several mid week activities and meeting for all ages.
