CLUSTER GROUP CONSTITUTION (template) 1. The group shall be called “ ”. 2. The mission statement of the group is to increase young people’s understanding of the local and global importance of trees, woodlands, forest environments, the forest industry, the timber trade and the wood products industries. All activities will be in support of this important mission statement and will be in accord with the environmental objectives of the member organisations. 3. To fulfil these aims: (a) Activities, in furtherance of the aims or for the benefit of the group, shall also be undertaken from time to time as members see fit. (b) Money shall be raised when necessary for carrying on the aim of the group; funds raised shall be applied for those aims as the members see fit. 4. Membership shall be open to any individual or organisation interested in taking an active part in the work of the cluster. A list of members of the cluster will be kept. 5. The cluster shall hold regular meetings to discuss its policy and administration. All members shall be entitled to attend and these meetings will be publicised in advance. The cluster shall also hold an annual meeting not later than four months after the end of each financial year. A quorum for this meeting will be 6 members. 6. Such officers shall be appointed to form a Steering Group as are required to conduct the administration of the cluster. These include a chairperson and a treasurer. These officers shall be in charge of the day-to-day running of the cluster, but shall be answerable to meetings of members. 7. Accounts shall be kept by the treasurer, and submitted to an annual audit and approved at the annual members meeting. 8. When organising activities the cluster shall ensure that insurance cover has been arranged for volunteers and for injuries to third persons and damage to property. 9. If the cluster shall, by general consent of its members, cease to exist, all assets shall pass to the Forest Education Initiative, or other environmental education organisation, agreed by two-thirds majority vote at a final meeting. 10. This constitution shall only be altered by consent of a two-thirds of the members list majority vote of the members included on the members’ list of the cluster. 11.
