CASLIS Ottawa CLA Conference Grant

The Grant:
CASLIS Ottawa invites applications for sponsorship to the CLA 200X Conference. The winner
will be awarded $1000.00. The CLA 200X Conference will be held in City, Province, Date. The
theme of the conference is "theme." For further details please visit The Canadian Library
Association at http://www.cla.ca/conference/conf.htm

Criteria:
* Applicants must be graduates from an accredited library school program or library and
information technician program.
* Applicants must be CASLIS Ottawa members.
* Preference will be given to first time attendees.
* Applicants must not be receiving funding from any other CLA source.
* Please submit a letter of approximately 250 words explaining why you want to attend the CLA
200X Conference.
* Previous winners are not eligible.

The winning candidate will submit short report giving his/her impression of the 200X CLA
Conference. This report will be published in CASLIS Ottawa Newsletter.

Deadline for application - April 15, 200X
The winner will be announced at the CASLIS AGM in May 200X and notified by
April XX, 200X.

CASLIS Ottawa CLA Membership Grants

The Grant:
CASLIS Ottawa invites applications for three $75.00 awards for a one year membership to
CLA/CASLIS Ottawa Chapter. The Canadian Association of Special Libraries and Information
Services (CASLIS) Ottawa Chapter is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the value of
sharing what we know. Membership in CASLIS promotes the value of special librarianship and
increases members' professional knowledge base. Every year, the chapter offers programs of
education, training and networking relevant to the working lives of our members.

Eligibility:
* Applicants must be enrolled in or graduates from an accredited library school program or
library and information technician program.
* Preference will be given to those candidates residing in, or planning to move to, Ottawa or the
National Capital Region.
* Applicants must be joining the CLA first time or be on student membership.

How to apply:
Please submit a letter of approximately 250 words explaining why you would like to join
CLA/CASLIS. Why is belonging to a professional association important to you? What particular
value do you expect membership to the association will bring you? Please provide proof of
education.

Deadline for application - April 15, 200X
The winner will be announced at the CASLIS AGM in May 200X.
