              OVERVIEW
Outline template development for the non-clinical
context
Use WebCT, LAMS, diagrams & elearning
pedagogy
Model scenario- & inquiry-based learning
approaches
Refer to two UoS: medical education & public health

environments

           LEARNING PROCESS
includes
   scenario-based learning
   inquiry-based learning
and is used to create authentic learning
experiences to help encourage investigation,
development, synthesis and application of
knowledge and understanding.

                                SUMMARY

Advantages
Make explicit the nature of the learning process for example cyclical or investigative
through graphical or tabular representation
Take away some of the repetitive work of the tutors/lecturers
Create easier and more transparent paths for the student to access information
Contain all resources in the one place: readings, attachments, etc
Allow for direct instructions to be offered to the student about how to use the
discussion board, making its management easier for the lecturer.

Using the discussion board exclusively still works, but perhaps the new models use a
more refined understanding of elearning although they can take longer to initially
establish.
