CUSTOMIZING EVERGREEN RECEIPT TEMPLATES Open Admin Receipt Template Editor. Under Templates / ID, select the type of receipt that you wish to customize from the drop-down menu. Here’s a brief explanation of what they are: Item_status – A printout of items that have been examined through F5, the Item Status option. Transit_list – A printout of items in transit from the Transit list, found from Admin | Local System Administration | Transit list Items_out – A printout of items which are checked out to a patron, from Print Receipt in a patron’s Items Out screen. (This is not the same as the receipt that prints upon checking an item or items out to a patron.That’s the next one, the “checkout” receipt.) Checkout – A printout issued when a patron checks out an item or items. This is probably the receipt that you had customized before. Offline_checkout – A printout issued when checking out items to a patron in the Offline Transaction Mode. Checkin – A printout of items which have been checked in; available from the F2 Check In / Process Items screen. Bill_payment – A receipt issued when a patron pays a bill Bills _historical – A printout of a patron’s bill history. Bills_current – A printout of a patron’s current bills. Available from the Bills section of a patron’s record; click Alternate View at the bottom, then the Print button in the pop-up window. Offline_checkin – A printout of items checked in during Offline Transaction mode. Offline_renew – A printout of items renewed during Offline Transaction mode. Offline_inhouse_use – A printout of items marked for inhouse use during Offline Transaction mode. Inhouse_use – A printout of items marked for inhouse use. Holds – A printout of a patron’s hold list. HOW TO CUSTOMIZE A CHECKOUT RECEIPT FOOTER: Choose “checkout” from the Template Name. Click in the Footer window and set up the format of what you want to print here. Add text that you type, or add “Macros” (information pulled from the actual transation record.) Code bits:

    This will print the Library’s name, today’s date, and the staff member’s Evergreen log-in name at the bottom of the checkout receipt. (If you were logged into Evergreen with a generic “Cir4” account, it would print that account name at the bottom of the slip. If you were logged in under your own personal account, it would print your first name at the bottom of the checkout slip.) If you want to add the library’s phone number, and remove the Staff member’s name, make the Footer information look like this by adding a line return and
    after %SHORTNAME%, deleting the “You were helped by…” line, and adding the second custom line (For information, call… etc).

    On the second line, above, you can customize it as you choose – “Have a nice day” “Come back to see us again” “To contact the library, call …. “ .. etc. Just make sure to put your library’s phone number there if you want that information included. You can organize the order in which these lines print by simply rearranging them. Be sure to put
    after each line to put a line break before the next printed line. At the top of the screen, click Preview to view in the left side what the receipt will look like. If you like it, click Save Locally. If not, re-edit it again and save it. WHERE TO CUSTOMIZE This must be done on every machine, individually, for which you wish to make this customized change. Now in this new version of Evergreen 1.2.1.2, it must be done in each Windows PROFILE as well. (If you log in to Windows as “abcircstaff” and make the change and save it, it’ll be there the next time you log in as “abcircstaff”. But if you log into Windows on the same computer as ‘smithj”, this customization will NOT be there. Custom settings are saved to each Windows profile now, not to the entire Evergreen software folder.) I’m not sure that the “export” and “import” buttons work here.
