AkzoNobel Polymer Chemicals, headquartered in Chicago, USA, holds worldwide leading positions in the production, handling and supply of organic peroxides and metal alkyls, used as polymerization initiators. Polymer Chemicals has 15 production plants in Europe, North America, South America, Japan and Asia-Pacific. The products are primarily used in the production of thermoplastic polymers and thermoset plastic materials, but find various other applications as well. Polymer Chemicals also supplies customers throughout the world with polymer additives and high purity metal organics. Polymer Chemicals R&D (with a total of 45 co-workers) is located in Deventer and is part of Research and Technology Center AkzoNobel. Three market focused R&D Teams are working on projects to meet current and future customer needs and on projects to optimize the current manufacturing processes and to develop new production technologies. Chemical Process Engineer Polymer Chemicals
We offer you A challenging job in which you will be involved in the development of new and improved processes, products and technologies as well as in the optimization of the current manufacturing processes. You will have the opportunity to come up with new ideas, to develop them and initiate new R&D projects. In projects you will be acting alternately as a team member and as the project leader. Main responsibilities Build and maintain expertise in the production of BU Polymer Chemicals products, especially metal alkyls; Works independently and in teamwork on R&D projects; Comes up with ideas to initiate new R&D projects; Plans, organizes according to project management. Evaluates and reports the results, as a base for reference and decision-making; Maintains a network with universities, research institutes and company R&D groups; Reports to the Team Leader CMOD.

He/she is flexible in cooperation, independent in judgement and approach, takes initiatives and has a hands-on mentality. Has clarity of expression in English, both in speech and in writing. Has an academic degree in chemical process technology /engineering and recognizes him/herself in the above profile.
