ACCESSING POWERPOINT TEMPLATES ON THE NETWORK
1. Browse to the network drive sys/shared/faculty and open the „PowerPoint Templates‟ folder.
2. Browse through the template theme folders. To use a selected template, double-click on the file name.
3. The selected template will open in PowerPoint as a new, unsaved document. You will see a new slide in the left hand pane with the default slide master applied. There may be other slide masters displayed as well, as in our example below. Generally, PowerPoint uses a title master (for creating title slides) and a slide master (for creating general content slides).

ADDING A NEW SLIDE
Adding a new slide to your presentation is easy. Select „Insert New Slide‟ from under the Insert menu or click the „New Slide‟ icon on the toolbar (see blue arrows below).
CHANGING THE DESIGN/LOOK OF A SLIDE
1. To change the design or look of a selected slide, open the Slide Design task pane by clicking on Format (1) and then Slide Design (2) on the menu bar (see below).
2. Click on the slide you want to change. Locate the Design Template options in the Slide Design task pane (shown highlighted in yellow below).

3. Available master designs you can apply to your slides appear under the heading „Used in This Presentation.‟ Choose the one you would like to use, click the drop-down arrow bar (3) to the right, and select „Apply to Selected Slides‟ (4). This will change the look of the slide you selected in the previous step.
4. You can change the look of any or all of your slides by repeating steps 2-3.
