Senior Scientist In Vivo Pharmacology (Cardiovascular Disease)

 Provasculon Inc.
Provasculon Inc. a Biogen Idec Innovation Incubator (bi3) company is focused on the
discovery and development of novel forms of Stromal Cell Derived Factor-1 (SDF-1) for
the treatment of cardiovascular disease and diabetic ulcers. Research published in
Circulation [Segers et al, 116(15):1683-92. (2007)] demonstrated that these novel
proteins were able to recruit stem cells to damaged tissue and improve cardiac function in
a rat myocardial infarction model. For more information about Provasculon, please visit

Provasculon Inc. is searching for a Pharmacologist with expertise in cardiovascular
disease models to leads its efforts to characterize the activity of novel chemokine variants
in vivo and to contribute significantly to lead optimization programs directed at the
discovery and development of clinical candidates for the treatment of diabetic wound
healing, peripheral vascular disease, and myocardial infarction. The ideal candidate will
have an outstanding scientific background, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills,
and be an important contributor to Provasculon’s success as a start up in the Biogen Idec
Innovation Incubator (bi3).
