EXPERIMENT PROJECT WRITE UP
A word-processed report of your project is due on Friday, January
The report should be in the following format:
Title of Project
III. Materials Needed:
(Organize your results and observations in tables, charts,
and/or graphs. Attach pictures which you should have taken
during the experiment.)

related directly to the Problem/Question.
_____ Begin your conclusion with a statement -- anyone
reading it should know what you are talking about
without having to refer back to the
question/Problem. Do not begin with “yes,” “no,” “because,” or

experiment. Do not make anything up if you think the
experiment should have shown something else. If
you think something really went wrong, discuss what
you think went wrong and what you could have done to get valid
_____ Summarize what happened during the experiment.
_____ Discuss how the evidence supports your conclusion.
_____ Discuss whether your evidence supports your hypothesis.
Possible questions to consider:
- Does the data support your hypothesis?
- Were you surprised by the results in terms of
your hypothesis? Why?
_____ Do not write, “My hypothesis was right,” or “My
hypothesis was wrong.” Instead, you could
say, “The data support/does not support my
hypothesis that . . . because . . .
_____ Discuss any questions that came up during the
