Along with the mass production of genetically engineered mice in late years, reproductive
engineering techniques have become inevitable as one of the related technologies for producing
the mice. However, it was almost impossible to learn these techniques perfectly from the existing
manuals because the reproductive engineering consists of manipulation under stereoscopic
microscopes. This time, we have created the “Manual for Reproductive Engineering Techniques”
on CD-ROM which data is HTML format, with a lot of moving images, illustrations and photographs
(both in Japanese and in English available). This CD-ROM shows the preparation of media and
stock solution, caesarean section and fostering, as well as IVF, cryopreservation of embryos and
sperms and the techniques of an embryo transfer. You can easily learn the techniques with this
CD-ROM, for each point of each manipulation is given an explanation with moving images. This
CD-ROM will contribute to improve your reproductive engineering techniques for genetically
engineered mice.
