									                             Lesson Plan Template
                                     Excel
  Setting up your page
  o Open up Excel
  o Go to File    Page Setup
  o Click on Margins Tab
  o Set all margins to be .25




  Borders
  o Click on upper left hand box
     between the A and 1 to highlight
     all cells.
  o Click on All borders.




  Cell Height
  o While all cells are highlighted,
     Right Click on the cells
  o Select Row height
  o Enter 135 for row height
  o Click on Row 1 and Row 2 to
     highlight both rows
  o Right Click
  o Select row height
  o Enter 12 for row height

  Format Page
  o Go to Format Style       Click on
     Modify
  o Alignment
          Horizontal   left
          Vertical   top
          Click on Wrap text
  o Font
          Select your default font
          Size (10)

You will come back to this window ALL
             THE TIME.

  Changing Column Width
  o Place your curser on the line
     between column A and B
  o Click and drag to change the size
     of your column

  Merging Cells
  o Highlight the cells that you want
    to merge together
  o Click on the merge cells icon
  o

  Changing the Text Alignment
  o Highlight the cells that you want
     to change
  o Go to Format      Cells
  o Click on the Alignment tab
  o Go to Orientation on the right
        • drag the red diamond up to
           vertical
  o Horizontal
        • Left, right center
  o Vertical
        • Top, bottom, midline


  Inserting Text Boxes
  o Go to the Draw toolbar on the
     bottom.

  o Click on the Text Box Icon
  o Drag your text box to where you
    want to place it.
  o You can “erase” the border of the
    text box by clicking on the Line
    color icon on the Draw toolbar and
    choosing No Line.




  Inserting Pictures
  o Click in the cell where you want to
     place the picture
  o Go to Insert      Picture    Clip
     Art
  o Select a picture
  o Resize the picture in Excel
  o Take the borders by clicking on
     the Line color icon on the Draw
     toolbar and choosing No Line.

  Copying Cells Down
  o Click on the cell that you want to
     copy.
  o Put you curser on the lower right
     hand corner of that cell. It will
     turn into a “plus” sign.
  o Click and drag down to the next
     cell. The first cell will be copied to
     the second cell.
  o You can do drag down over several
     cells (Example: Lunch)




  Formatting Any Cell
  o Click in the cell or highlight a group
     of cells that you want to format.
  o Right Click in that area
  o Choose Format Cells
  o Choose Alignment or Font




  Saving your Lesson Plans
  o Go to File Save As
  o Save it in My Documents
  o Name it something that you’ll
     remember.
   Example: Template or Lesson Plans
  Creating a Weekly Lesson Plan
  o Open up your original document
     (Template or Lesson Plans)
  o Go to File     Save As
  o Name it with the date (Feb12)
  o You still have the original and a
     new lesson plan for that week.
