Summary January 2010
Principal Report
      Working to be mindful of spending and use of materials
      Green team working on reducing wastes
        o Looking for parents and students to join
        o Meets every other Friday @ 1:30pm
      Pride Team
        o Presentation of what was found out from the student safety surveys
              Students feel unsafe in unsupervised areas
              Will have an assembly to show video of kids reading their papers on respect
        o Blue tickets will be reintroduced
              Winners will be photographed and put on TV on Fridays
      Kindergarten info night in Jan
      MLK Jr Assembly on 1/15
      Open enrollment is Jan 11-Feb 12
      VIPP teacher starting Jan 7th to help 3-5 grades with math


President Report
      Need a nominating committee so we can vote them in at Feb meeting


Treasurer
      Student Banking started and was successful
      Auction project reimbursement wasn’t added to budget. Motion to increase budget to account
       for $1275.
Fundraising
      Need a tshirt sales chair – will work on that after the auction
      Enhancements – will form a committee after the auction
      Easy money programs
       o Need to sign up at Albertson’s and make sure to specify Eastgate PTA as recipient
       o Save box tops and toner and turn into the PTA office
       o Will have another push for PACE
      Auction Update
       o Flyers sent out for an art contest for the invitations and catalog
                Each entry will get a free kids meal at Red Robin
       o Procurement contest for items worth $25 or more
                Winner will get a nights stay at the Red Lion
       o Samena will have child care available on night of auction from 5:00-10:30pm
       o Need wine donations for ring toss in man cave
       o Raffle tickets will be on sale at the Talent Show for the assigned parking space at school.
       o Auction meeting Jan 28th @ 7pm in the Eastgate libraryPrograms
     Need chairperson for Family Fun Night in the spring
     Reflections judging all done
       o Crossroads judging in January


New Business
     BSD Levy Speaker John Stokes
      o Talked about what the levies are for and how important it is to get them passed
      o Vote Feb 9th
      o Need 5-10 people to be callers to remind voters about the levies
     Art Docent program going great!
