Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) has released its handheld optical light source offering high accuracy and reliability for evaluating
a wide range of optical devices and systems including WNM. It is commonly used for the maintenance of telecommunication networks, CATV systems,
fiber optic test labs, and generic cabling systems (GCS). This high performance light source is also ideal for the manufacture, testing and maintenance
of passive optical components.
This easy-to-use optical light source, model 08232, provides a highly stable output power of +/-0.05dB/15mins and +/-0.1dB/8 hours. The light source
uses PF-LD emitters and provides output wavelengths including 650nm red source, 1310/1550nm for single mode fiber and 850/1300nm for
multimode fiber. The compact light source offers modulation frequencies including CW, 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. In addition, it can be used in
conjunction with other types of test equipment, such as power meters and fiber identifiers, to test fiber optic cables.
