All appointed positions are year-to-year, and may be renewed contingent upon availability of
funding and satisfactory performance. The policies which govern this position are articulated in the
Conditions of Professional Service Section 6-301 of the Arizona Board of Regents Policy Manual
and under Chapter four of the University Handbook for Appointed Personnel.

Under the conditions of your employment, you are not eligible to participate in the University of
Arizona's health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance programs or retirement plan. Should
you accept a position that is eligible for participation in the benefits and/or retirement plans at a
later date, you will be notified by your department and by Human Resources.
The University of Arizona is required by federal law (The Immigration Reform and Control Act
(IRCA) of 1986) to verify the identity and work authorization of all new employees. Accordingly,
this offer is contingent upon verification of identity and eligibility to be employed in the United
States. In addition, this employment offer is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome of any pre-
employment screening activities or criminal background checks that may be required under
University policy or Arizona Board of Regents policy 6-709.
On or before your first day of employment, you will be required to complete Section 1 of the I-9
form. Within three (3) business days of the date your employment begins, you must also present to
your department original documentation to establish (1) true identity and (2) eligibility to be
employed in the United States. Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) policy provides that
misrepresentation of an individual’s qualifications or credentials in securing employment at the
University may be grounds for dismissal. Please consult with Stacey Tutas in our Business Office
for further information regarding this requirement.
This letter constitutes the full terms of our employment offer and supersedes all other commitments
either written or verbal that may have been made to you.
