School Improvement Plan Template 2003-04
Due on June 9th 2003
PRINT AND READ BEFORE USING THE TEMPLATE
Right Click on the email attachment and Save As SIP 2003-04 to the My Documents
folder on your computer or to a floppy disk.
Close the email and find the template where you saved it. It will open as a Microsoft
You might want to print the document first to have a reference copy. Response
information disappears once you start typing in each area.
Place cursor in first gray space, which is School Name on page 1.
Go to File and Save As: Your School Name SIP 2003-04 again in your My Documents
Folder (or a New Folder you have created one for your School Improvement Plan. This
will leave your template empty and create a new document.) Continue to tab through
and enter your data in the document and SAVE OFTEN.
Page 2 will be completed by Federal Programs.
Page 3 again begins with School.
Please make note of the Required areas. In areas that do not pertain to your school
please type in NA
Enter information and TAB to the next blank. The only place you can enter information is
where there is a gray space. The rest of the document is protected.
On page 5 the School Leadership Team may be typed in (signatures are not required).
Note the areas shaded in green are new additions to last years SIP.
There is one question at the end of the District Policy pages.
Following the District Policy page is a new additional page to complete.
The Title I and DERA pages have already been completed by Federal Programs and
You have already received your Budget Spreadsheet with your Title I and At-Risk
allocations from the Federal Programs Office (Jim Clevenger). This completed budget
worksheet should be sent in along with your completed SIP. Use this budget worksheet
for Title I, At-Risk, Title II (CSRF allocations), and other ‘special funds’.
Send the completed School Improvement Plan to Pat Ellis or Carolee Finkbeiner as an
attachment to an email. If you are not sure how to do this please call Pat Ellis at 279-
2311 for help. (We would prefer an electronic copy so changes can be made if necessary
and the data can be transferred to the Title I dept. and many other department need this
information and it is much easier to send electronically.)
