Student Guide to the Standards-Based Lesson Plan Project We have provided a variety of resources to help you get familiar with creating lesson plans using standards. This particular lesson plan project helps to walk you through the process of creating a lesson plan based on the major models of teaching. Your instructor will decide how to use the components of this lesson plan assignment feature. The following items have been provided on this website to help you complete the Standards-Based Lesson Plan Project: - Two detailed lesson plans have been provided for you based on the two Case Studies for each model of teaching in your text. The Case Studies are found in Chapters 4 through 13. These case study lesson plans have been created by students like yourselves, under the direction of the authors. - Two suggested lesson plan templates, which provide the subject, grade level, general content and length of a lesson. For these lesson plans, your assignment is to locate the appropriate standard, benchmark, and/or grade level expectation from your own state using the Links to U.S. State Standards provided on the main page of the website. You are to develop a standards-based lesson using the appropriate model of teaching. Your instructor will determine which components of this lesson plan are required. - One blank lesson plan template has been provided for each of the teaching models. For this part of the assignment you should choose the content for any subject and grade level given in your state standards that can be taught effectively using the model of teaching assigned. Develop the entire lesson using this model of teaching. Again, your instructor will determine which components of this lesson plan are required for each assignment.
