FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MOMENTUM WORLDWIDE ELEVATES JON HAMM TO CHIEF STRATEGY AND
INNOVATION OFFICER IN MOVE TO BOLSTER GLOBAL INTEGRATION
Co-founder of 2008 Momentum Acquisition Greenroom Digital Relocates from London to NYC
Global Headquarters to Amplify Momentum’s Phygital™ offering
NEW YORK CITY (February 22, 2010) – Chris Weil, Chairman and CEO of Momentum Worldwide today
announced that Jon Hamm has been appointed Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and is
relocating from Momentum London to the New York headquarters effective immediately. Hamm will
report directly to Weil and is tasked with driving further integration of their physical and digital
expertise to help deliver successful campaigns and results for clients including Coca-Cola, US Army,
Kraft, Office Depot, and Anheuser Busch/InBev.
Jon Hamm joined Momentum in 2008 when his agency, Greenroom Digital, was acquired by the
Company. Greenroom was founded in 2000 and initially specialized in providing full-service digital
strategy and implementation to the entertainment business. By 2008, the success of the business
model and approach helped diversify the client base to include gaming, fashion, technology and
FMCG clients who were seeking to create innovative, stand-out profiles in the digital landscape.
“We are thrilled that Jon has agreed to move across the pond and take on driving our digital thinking
and execution across all that we do,” said Chris Weil, Chairman and CEO of Momentum Worldwide.
“When I met Jon in 2008 while we were negotiating the Greenroom deal, I knew we needed him in our
agency and that is one of the main reasons we bought Greenroom. He is one of the most talented
strategic digital thinkers in our business. Nobody ‘gets it’ like Jon does and our employees and our
clients are going to benefit greatly from his visionary thinking and his leadership.”
“In 2008, when Greenroom was embedded into the Momentum family, the most attractive part to me
was the promise of being able to marry our skill sets in both the physical and digital spaces to create
insightful, discipline-agnostic, integrated “phygital” campaigns for our client partners,” said Jon
Hamm. “We have spent the 18 months in London massaging and perfecting this model, and today
that model is proven and the agency is cranking out award winning integrated work for key European
clients including Nestle, Sony, 20th Century Fox and Nokia. My desire is to continue to develop this
model and bring it to Momentum offices around the world. I appreciate Chris’ vision and unyielding
support to get this done.”
A unique component of the Greenroom offering is Engagement Intelligence (Ei), a social media and
consumer insight division developed by the agency. The methodology and thinking behind Ei will
play a key role in realizing the vision for the future of Momentum in this new “social” consumer-centric
world. As part of his plan, Jon will be aggressively rolling Ei out across Momentum’s worldwide client
base.
