Exploratory Writing and Science Journal Entries: A Guide for Students When I write in my science journal, I will use these questions to help me focus my ideas. 1. What new ideas or insights do I have now after studying this section? 2. How will I use what I have learned in my everyday life? When I write in my science journal, I will • begin my writing by describing briefly what we did; • express my ideas and point of view about what we learned; • include all the important facts and details about what we learned; • leave out all unnecessary and unimportant information; and • provide a closing to my journal entry. c 2002 by the Regents of the University of California from The New Science Literacy, Portsmouth, NH: Heinemann.
