Project Background

PIFRA (Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing), the project I am working on, is a
World Bank funded project. This involves implementation of HR and FI/CO modules of SAP Solution
in the public sector at 127 sites in Pakistan, with a user-base of over 1100. It contains data of more
than Two (2) million employees and can be considered as one of the largest implementation of SAP
HR in the world.
Main responsibilities

   Area of main responsibilities includes Site productivity for PIFRA, site support, User End Training,
    Client Interaction, configuration and assistance in development of new requirements which arise
    time and again. Continuous support is provided to the productive sites apart from the
    implementation of new sites. Other than support any change requests are also catered which
    arise due to special requirements of sites. I am currently working as a Quality Manager-HR and
    providing support to SAP Implemented sites around Pakistan and manage the configuration work
    distribution amongst the HR-support team. Besides interaction and central support strive to
    achieve fruitful results during the functional requirements meetings and Represent company
    point of view during the resource group meetings.

Summary of work

·    Payroll
       Comprehensive working on Schema, Rules, Functions, Info types, Reports, Processing
         classes, evaluation classes, partial period factoring, payroll queries, Form Editor.
        Wiping Omissions and errors from the PAYROLL, Generating reports and salary slips.
        Support   of   productive   sites   in   smooth   payroll   execution,   posting   to   accounting,
         reconciliation procedures and financial postings.
·    Income Tax
     Implementation of the complete tax structure for the employees of Pakistan Govt. according to
      rules set by Federal Board of Revenue.

·     Pension
     Implementation of the pension module as per policies advised by the Govt. of Pakistan

·    Staff Expenses.
     Managing staff expenses through loans, advances, TA/ DA etc

·    Memberships (GPF (General Provident Fund)):
     Development of Provident fund module, and integration with Payroll and memberships

·    Memberships (CPF (Contributory Provident Fund)):
     Development and configuration of Contributory Provident fund module for NWFP government
     and integration with Payroll and memberships.
     Site Support:
     Provide Production and roll out site support for several sites in their implementation, AG’s and
     AGPR with their respective provincial districts.
·    Configuration / Customization
     Ensuring the rules and regulations are incorporated in the SAP domain according to the
     demands (development and configuration / customizations) from Government of Pakistan.
     Customizing and Configuration of HR Personal Management, Personnel Administration,
     Organizational structures and HR-Time Management
     Coordination with ABAP Team Lead for new reports and new modules according to the
     set parameters by the Government
     Transportation of reports/ customization work up to the Production servers of productive sites
     Transportation of changes from Quality server to the Production Servers
.   Trainings
     · User end training for a very large user base.

Further Activities

·   Interacting with clients to gather user requirement and in cases make them acquainted with
    the new processes. Interaction is with all tiers of personnel.
·   Optimize Quality procedures and Conduct training sessions for module updates
·   Quality measures and ensuring configuration standards are met.
·   Ensure cross clients activities and status verifications for productive sites
·   Representation in validation committees meetings.
·   Ensuring the new developments status and impact on the current system.
·   Calculation of monthly man-hours and attendance records
·   Weekly meeting with-in the HR team to analyze the consultant performances and the       issues
    logged by productive sites users.
·   Forecast upcoming activities and rectification of any potential hazards in the smooth processing
    of the monthly or yearly activities.
