ACTIVE DEVON PARTNERSHIP BOARD CANDIDATE BRIEFING and RECRUITMENT PACK RECRUITMENT PROCESS Board Members: Expressions of interest are invited from representatives of those sectors listed overleaf who have the appropriate commitment to and interest in physical activity and/or sport in Devon. This list is not exclusive and consideration will be given to candidates from other sectors where a link to the work of the partnership can be demonstrated. Board Members must be willing, motivated and able to work at a strategic level and provide support to the partnership in a variety of contexts. Candidates are asked to provide evidence against the role description, person specification and an indication of any key skills they are able to bring to the Board. Expressions of interest for positions to the Board should be submitted in writing by the closing date. Invitations to join the Board will be made by the Chief Executive and Chairperson, when appointed. Recruitment of Chairperson: Applicants for the position of Chairperson will need to demonstrate their significant leadership skills and competencies against the role description, personal specification and collective skills and attributes. All candidates for this important position will be expected to have: Experience of working within a Board/ Committee structure Understanding of multi agency and partnership working Ability to ensure effective governance within a Board/Committee environment A letter of application should be submitted by the closing date. Travel and other reasonable expenses will be reimbursed Location Partnership meetings may be held throughout the County Term Two years initially. Future terms dependant on governance arrangements to be agreed Time Commitment Induction training c. Four Board meetings annually c. Two Partnership events annually Chair or represent the Partnership on working groups/conferences/events Regular contact with the Board Members, Partners, Chief Executive and core staff of the Partnership Purpose Provide strategic leadership and be a visible role model/public face of the Partnership Help make the board a high performing team Help ensure the Partnership is ‘fit for purpose’ Extend the network, influence and resources of the Partnership Lead and support the Board members, Chief Executive and Partnership staff in developing the Partnership and establishing governance arrangements.
