History and Future of the Internet
Before we can understand e-commerce and evaluate websites, we should attempt to understand where it came from – and where it might be going.
PART A - HISTORY
In this section you will use a search engine of your choice to find out the history of the internet. 1) Tell me about how the internet has evolved from a very elementary link of two computers to the gigantic monster that it is today (tell me enough for 4 marks). 2) Using a table, provide a timeline of the key issues/innovations which have occurred related to the internet (8 marks). Be sure to include EBAY and Facebook on your timeline. Don’t try to make this perfect. Do your best and have fun with it. Potential searches: “History of the Internet”, “Evolution of the Internet” Please limit your answer to 1 page and do not misuse “cut and paste”
PART B – FUTURE
In this section, you will make predictions of how you think the internet will be used 10-20 years from now. Please use a combination of online resources and your own personal opinions. Provide at least 5 of each. Please format this section in a table. Clearly identify which opinions were your and which came from another source. Here is the format you should use.
