Endorsement in:
Math (no designation) = 32 hours + Math test + 6-12 APT Test
For people outside of Math seeking Math endorsement = 24 hours + math test to be highly
qualified (or 32 hours with no test to be not highly qualified)
English (no designation) = 32 hours + English test + 6-12 APT Test
For people outside of English seeking English endorsement = 24 hours + English test to be
highly qualified (or 32 hours with no test to be not highly qualified)
Social Science – Designation in a particular area, e.g. Economics, Geography, History, Political
Science, Psychology, or Sociology/Anthropology = 32 hours + particular designation test + 6-12
APT Test
For extra designation within SS = 1 course + particular designation test (or 24 hours with
no test to be not highly qualified)
For people outside of SS seeking SS endorsement = 32 hours + particular designation test to be
highly qualified (or 32 hours with no test to be not highly qualified)
Science – Designation in a particular area, e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space
Science, or Environmental Science = 32 hours + particular designation test + 6-12 APT Test
For extra designation within science = 1 course + particular designation test (or 24 hours
with no test to be not highly qualified)
For people outside of Science seeking Science endorsement = 32 hours + particular designation
test to be highly qualified (or 32 hours with no test to be not highly qualified)
Foreign Language (Type 10, Grades K-12) – Designation in a particular language = 32 hours +
particular language test + ACTFL + K-12 APT Test
For extra designations within FL = 20 hours + particular language test
For people outside of FL seeking FL endorsement = 32 hours + particular language test
